Missing in Action

Well, I have been missing in action for a while now. Things have just been so crazy since Travis has gotten home that I just haven't had much time to do my regular posts. I really do hope to get back to my regular schedule soon but it will only be for a short time before things go array again.

I don't think I posted this on here yet, but we will officially be moving to our next duty station next month. Things have been happening quickly but we are both very excited about this next step. We are will now be residents of KY, Fort Knox to be exact. Travis will be an aide to a General so that is also an exciting new adventure for him, and me as well. We are super excited to be closer to our home state of TN, only 3 hrs. to my family, 5 from his- MUCH better than the 11 hrs! Travis received the news that we would be moving while he was still in Haiti, actually the week he came home it became official, but we had a month to sit on the idea. But now things are starting to pick up. I am trying not to stress out but I know that it will happen. We have lots of things ahead of us. Currently, we are in KY trying to find a place to live, than we will be home for about a week and a half until we go on our vacation to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, but once we return we will only have about 2 weeks- if that- to prepare to move. Luckily, we will have a moving company to do the big heavy lifting and packing but I will still have to pack some things. I should be a pro at this by now seeing that I did 2 moves by myself with only 2 weeks to pack and hit the road (no movers unless you count family)! I took this picture as we were entering Fort Knox yesterday. There is another tank on the other side of the road before the gate as well, and even sporadically spread throughout post and the towns outside post. Pretty cool! I need to try to take a picture of the Fort Knox building (not sure of the real name) of where they keep all the Gold Bars. The place looks awesome and is secured like a prison so no one, other than people that work there, gets too close!

So, I will try my best to get things back to normal here as soon as possible but that may not be until after we make the move and get settled. But, I think I will have to make myself sit down every once in a while to write, vent, find some fun things to share, just to stay sane during this whole thing. Don't want to snap on anyone (i.e. Travis) hehe!
