Friday Finds

Today's Friday Finds is a little different than most. I wanted to share some of the thrifty buys we found last weekend instead of items that I have found on Etsy.

I was looking on Craigslist one night and saw a place called Tickled Pink. I KNEW that we had to go. So I convinced Travis to head up to Louisville with me, which didn't take much convincing, and off we went with a list of addresses of places we wanted to stop.

We stopped first at a place called Dixie Trading Post. Not real sure how to describe this place. Kinda like a flea market I guess. People have different booths and put whatever they want in the booth. We found a couple things here but only walked away with a shelving unit that I am going to use in my craft room. I don't have a picture of it now but stay on the look out for a post about it soon. I have some plans for the thing so it will get a post all it own. BTW- we got that for $12.50. :)

After we left the Trading Post, we headed up to Tickled Pink. We walked in and both went crazy! Can we saw AWESOME PLACE! Stuff, stuff, and more stuff. EVERYWHERE! I actually grabbed my purse and pulled it in front of my because I was nervous it would knock something over as we were squeezing past. At first, we both joked that we wouldn't walk out with anything until we saw the prices and then our hands just started to fill up! This place also allows people to have booths to sell items or they get items from Estate Sales or any where else they find cool things. The guy that runs the place told us that every thing in the place, other than furniture, he tries to sell for $10 or below! HOW GREAT IS THAT?! REALLY!! Especially for us on a budget wanting to redo some rooms.

While we were browsing, Travis found a couple "inspiration" pieces for his man cave. He was so excited like a kid in a candy store. He has decided he wants his room to have more of a travel feel to it. We have lots of souvenirs from trips we have taken together, along with items he has brought back from deployments, so he will like to have all this displayed. So he was a buying machine! lol

I only bought one thing for myself at this store and the rest was for his room. But I am happy with what he picked out for his room. Let's see how he brings it altogether. The most expensive thing we bought at this store was a globe for $7.99. We were so excited. The best part about this store is that they have a garage in the back- FULL, and I mean FULL of furniture. If you find it in the garage, it is at a lower price then when he brings it into the store. So go dig in the garage! Some awesome things await! He had old windows for $2.99. I wanted them SO bad but just wasn't sure what I would do with them right now so I left them. But if there are still there when we go back, this weekend btw, I think I will have to snag them up!

Here are a couple pictures of our fabulous finds.

This is all of our loot from Tickled Pink. We got ALL of this for $50. :) (Can you tell which item is mine? haha)

This would be my item. Cute little iron cage. Has flowers inside right now, which I will change out to something brighter and I am debating on changing the color but not sure. What do you think?!
This was only $4.99

Leather case with binoculars inside- $3.99, Glass jug- $2.99

James Dean picture- $6.99, Lantern $4.99 (Travis almost walked out without seeing this lantern. I grabbed it and took it to him and it was love at first site. lol) I think it was my favorite purchase of his.

Glass bottle- can't remember the price $2.99 I think.

Globe for $7.99. Love the colors of it!

Three Musketeers book- $2.99, Old travel brochures and maps- Varied in price, and the National Geographic magazines were .50 cents (for both) at an Estate sale we stopped at.

And the awesome crate for $3.99. Love the sticker still on the side. Travis is going to hang it on the wall and use it as a shelf- my idea btw. ;)

So those are our treasures! :) We are going back to these places this weekend because they have big sales going on. We can't wait!! :)

I am linking up to Debbie Doo's Garage Salen Party and The Shabby Nest's Frugal Friday. (My first link ups!)
