Travis' Man Cave
Travis has finished his "Man cave," well for the most part at least, and I thought I would share his room with you all. He is super excited about it and I must admit that he did a good job. He has a little more stuff on the walls, or in general, then I would have done, (he likes a lot of stuff), but he pulled it together well. He used a lot of the thrifty items we found on a couple of our trips out and about. You can read more about each piece here and here. Is it sad when your husband finishes his room before you finish yours? All well, my craft room is coming along and is almost done.
Anyways, here is the hubby's new room.
Anyways, here is the hubby's new room.

-Small shelf with: Rain Stick from Costa Rica, small bowl from Haiti, Picture of New Orleans after Katrina
-Old trivet- thrifty find
-Picture collage Travis made a few years back
-And the Shield looking thing- he had made in Haiti
-Small shelf with statue his parents got Travis of a soldier, another small bowl from Haiti, Metal piece he had made in Haiti, and small Mayan temple from Belize
-Frog on the wall is from Costa Rica
-Picture of Travis jumping of a cliff in Jamaica
Crate 1- Binoculars and binocular case, large bowl from Haiti, Glass lantern star from Iraq, wood monkey carving- Iraq, National Geographic from the 40s and 50s- estate sale, Motorcycle- new from Hobby Lobby, and Red lantern- old Railroad light, Scarf off the side is from Iraq as well.Crate 2- Picture on top is from WY, small items in front are from Iraq, Old bottle- thrift find, Old travel brochures and maps- thrift find, Old wheel cap- flea market find
Crate 3- Old Globe- thrift find, Picture- Travis in a Helicopter in Haiti, Small airplane- Hobby Lobby, Item laid on top- small rug from Iraq that says Operation Iraqi Freedom, Old Lantern- thrift find, Small silver plate- Was a piece of Saddam Hussein's- has his seal in the center of it , Picture of Travis and his best friends, and that is sitting on a wooden box holding old sewing machine attachments- found at a flea market
Travis found this chandelier at the thrift store we love. I sanded, primed, and spray painted it a glossy light gray.Patton apparently wanted to be on our blog because he wouldn't move out of the way.
The ottoman just broke, see the huge pothole on the far side-lovely, so it looks like that will be ready for another redo. I did it a few years ago but it doesn't quite match the decor in here so I will be recovering it again and fixing the support bracket while I am at it.
He picked out the curtains from Lowes. The entertainment center got a new coat of brown paint over the white layer I put on it a few years back. Red chair got a slipcover put back on it. I say it all came together rather well.
So what do you think? Did he do pretty good?

LOVE LOVE LOVE the crate table! That is seriously awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteI love all of the ideas and the table but I think it looks way too crowded in there. But I love things simple so who knows.
ReplyDeleteTo Anonymous-- I totally agree. It is too crowded but I let my husband do all the decorating since it was his room and this is how he wanted it and did it. I tried to convince him otherwise but he wouldn't have it. All well. Can't win every battle.
