Whatcha Think?

I finally found a new comforter and Travis likes it too!

I'm a little stumped though.
Remember these frames:

Well, I bought a few more at Tickled Pink this weekend and I really want to get them done and up on the wall like this:

But put them above the bed.

You can also see the new comforter. It is a floral, kinda paisley pattern, and it's red, orange, greens, blue, white on a creamy beige background.

Here is an up close shot of the fabric.

We are renting so we are pretty much stuck with the light cream walls and currently, I still have up my old green curtains but I want to get away from the greens.
I am thinking I want to pull out the blue, even though there isn't very much of it.
But I just don't know! See... STUMPED!

So my question is, should I pull out the blue and paint the frames blue and then do blue curtains, or should I go another color?!

  1. I LOVE your blog! You are so creative! I personally would bring out the darker red color in the comforter as I consider it to be a more romantic color (if that is such a thing). And the bedroom should be a romantic place :)

  2. I am putting empty frames around our bed as well, but I don't have enough yet to start hanging them. I am constantly on the lookout for pretty frames and you have some great ones!

I think you should try to bring in another color somehow... blues are super pretty in bedrooms, but it's always nice to have some contrast. I am always stumped about color combinations... it's so hard to decide, but I'm sure it will look great!

  3. I say bring the blue out in curtains and paint the frame red!

  4. How about bringing the lime green out? mixed with aqua vases and decorations?

  5. Just a thought...but since you can't paint on the could buy some large canvases (maybe 4) and paint them and hang them on the wall tightly together and then hang the frames (I would do cream maybe??) on top of the canvases...good luck! Love the comforter!!!

  6. Love that comforter! I think to point the frames blue and then do the curtains in that deep red would look nice or even do a neutral curtain with a blue border would be neat!

  7. I LOOOOVE that comforter!! There's a rug at Target right now that is very similar to that pattern. I want it so bad for our living room.

I personally love blue, but I think any color you go with will wind up being beautiful. Good luck!

  8. What about something like this:

Not my work, but I LOVE it, and it would let you work with solid curtains more easily...

  9. Love the comforter....I actually like the green in the set...I do like Kathryns idea too. Can't wait to see it all.

  10. Totally love it, can't wait to see it finished. Jen

  11. I would go with curtains in blue! I think it would help bring out the blue and make the room really pop!! Can't wait to see what you do!

  12. Have you thought about painting the frames blue, with the exception of one and paint that one red.... or another bold color to make a focal point?

  13. I like the idea of blue curtains, and then maybe doing blue and yellow for the frames?

  14. Love the comforter!! You should share where you got it! You could mix the colors and do some of the frames or maybe just one and do the rest cream to add a little interest! Love your blog you do a great job! Check mine out it is new!

  15. I would try out all your suggestions from your readers in and see what you like best without spending time or money in trial and error ;0) I think the blue frames and one red or one green would look great or even keep the golds and browns on the frames as is for a more collected over time look (like the new PB catalogue) and pop all the colors with patterned pillows?

  16. Thanks for all the suggestions everyone! I'll have to sort through them all and see if I can finally make a decision! lol

I love to receive and read your comments. It just makes my day! :)
