I'm sorry I've been a bad host lately!
I feel terrible that I haven't had the time to visit and comment on all of the links in weeks past.
We've been preparing for a garage sale this weekend and with our move only a little over a week away, I have just been super busy! And unfortunately, it won't get better any time soon. Hopefully by the end of May I will do better!

Anyways! Let's party!!

Latest Thrift Finds

Travis and I had a thrifting shopping day about a month and a half ago and I realized that I never shared our finds with you yet.
At this point, I really don't remember all the prices that we paid for everything, but I will do my best.

Of course we stopped at our favorite place, Tickled Pink and then also stopped at another great store, The Dixie Trading Post.

Here's are finds:

First up: Travis found this steamer trunk for $15 at Tickled Pink. He debated about it for a few minutes but in the end, it came home with us.

Here's a shot of the inside and the paper that lines the trunk.

I found this frame and loved it. Not sure yet if it will go on my frame collage wall (when I finally do that) but it will find a home somewhere!

Travis found this brand new Stetson hat for $35 (which is an awesome find since these hates are like $200) and just had to have it. He actually bought it for his mom because his family has horses and mules so she ended up buying it off of us.

I found these fun little plates and cups and debated over them. I showed Travis and he thought they were cool. I decided that I wouldn't get them but Travis decided that we should, so home with us they came. There are 4 of them total and I think they were only $5.

The last purchase from Tickled Pink was this little plate. It was only a few dollars and not sure why I had to have it. I just loved the colors and have been wanting to do a plate wall in my dining room so I guess this was a jumping off point.

We then headed to Dixie Trading Post and I found this cheese dome for $5. I had other plans for it and just yesterday it had it's make over. I'll be sure to share what it looks like now soon. It didn't change too much but it looks great!

Then we came across all these silver plates and both loved them. I thought they would look great on my plate wall and we both really like them as is. They all ranged in price but we decided to jump right in and get them all, even if some were a little more than I probably would have spent.

Loved the details in this one. So pretty!

Loved the shape and designs in this one as well.

Large round plate with simple but elegant details.

And last purchase was this plate with great cut outs as well.


We came home with quite a bit that day.
Hopefully after our move, I will be able to show you all them in use.

Tasty Tuesday: Creamy Chicken Fajitas

Found this recipe on Kraft Food.
We really enjoy chicken fajitas so I will definitely be giving this a try.


Creamy Chicken Fajitas

Total Time: 19 min
Prep: 10 min
Servings: 4 servings


What You Need:
-1 lb. boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips
-1 cup each thin onion slices and green pepper strips
-1 tub (10 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Santa Fe Blend Cooking Creme
-8 flour tortillas (6 inch), warmed
-1 cup KRAFT Mexican Style Finely Shredded Four Cheese


Make It:

-COOK chicken and vegetables in large nonstick skillet on medium heat 6 to 7 min. or until chicken is done.

-ADD cooking creme; cook and stir 2 min.

-SPOON down centers of tortillas; top with shredded cheese. Fold in half.


Kraft Kitchens Tips:
Size-Wise:
Enjoy your favorite foods on occasion but remember to keep tabs on portions.

Substitute:
Substitute flank steak or pork cutlets for the chicken.

How to Warm Tortillas:
Wrap tortillas in dampened paper towels. Microwave on HIGH 45 sec. to 1-1/2 min. or until softened

Rosette Easter Basket

I shared this tutorial over at The Scrap Shoppe this weekend and TOTALLY FORGOT to let you all know that I would be over there! Forgive me! So I wanted to share it here as well for all of you just in case you still want a cute Easter basket idea.


Rosette Embellished Easter Basket

Here's the how-to:

Supplies:
-Easter basket (I bought a small felt one from Michael's)
-Colorful felt
-Ribbon
-Glue gun

First, make all the rosettes.

Cut a square out of felt, any size you like.
The bigger the square the bigger the flower and vice versa.

Then, turn the square into a circle. You can do wavy edges or just plain.

Then, cut a spiral in the circle.

Start at the end and roll the felt toward the center.

Roll until you get to the center and you should have a little flap of felt left over.

Place glue in the center and fold over the flap. This will hold the flower together.

All done!

Now repeat MANY times! lol
I think I made 70 larger rosettes with then an additional 30 smaller rosettes.
Your number will vary depending on the size of your flowers and how close you glue them together.


Now onto embellishing the basket.

I took some white ruffly ribbon and hot glued it to the handle.

Then, I took some eyelet ribbon and hot glued it to the inside rim of the basket.

Time to glue on the rosettes.
Start at the bottom and work your way around.
I did a dry fit to figure out my pattern and how many I would need to circle the basket.
Then just place hot glue on each rose and attach.

Work your way up the basket.

Add each flower until the whole basket is covered.
When I neared the top, I glued the smaller rosettes so you could still see the little green scallops.

Up close of the ribbon handle and the eyelet ribbon.

I love the little flowers and added details on this ribbon.

You don't have to cover the whole thing in flowers if you want.
You could always just do a row or two near the top. The possibilities are endless!

Fill it up with treats to enjoy or some colorful Easter eggs!
