Tasty Tuesday: Pizza Roll Crescents

Today for Tasty Tuesday I am sharing a recipe that I made the other night.
We normally have pizza once a week and during football season, that day is on Sunday. I went to make a pizza and thought I had some pizza dough and it turned out that I didn't so I improvised and made Pizza Roll Crescents and they were really yummy!

Here's the How-to!

Prep Time: 5 mins
Total Time: 15 mins

Ingredients:
- Crescents
-Pizza Sauce (for dipping)
-Pepperoni or other ingredients to your liking
-Cheese

To Make:

-Preheat oven to temperature on Crescents
- Unroll all the crescents

-Top with pepperoni or other toppings

-Top with cheese

A few months ago I shared that you could ask me anything from my personal life to my blog and projects, so today I am going to answer a few of those questions.

-Question 1: asked by Michele from The Scrap Shopp
Where is your favorite room/space to write your blog posts from?

I don't really have a favorite room or space but I do blog from the same spot every time. I have a laptop and we just keep it in the living room on the coffee table (mostly because I used to work online from home) so I always blog from my couch with laptop in lap. Not very inspiring but it gets the job done.

How long were you been blogging before getting your first feature on another blog for something you had done?

Hmmm... that's a good question. I actually started A Glimpse Inside as a family blog with very little crafts being shared. I didn't start sharing crafts until about 8 mths into blogging after we moved to KY and I had a craft room and we were decorating our new place. The first post that was featured on another blog was actually my first crafty/decorative post I shared and it was my "Style with Shutters" post. I linked it up to multiple linky parties and it got featured and also was picked as the #1 project over at The CSI Project that week. Talk about me being THRILLED! :)

-Question 3 & 4: I am combining these two questions because they were very close to the same questions so they go together.

Thrifty Crafty Girl asked: What is your best advice for new bloggers like me? and
Ginger from Ginger Snap Crafts asked: What are some of your best blogging tips? Would love tips on organizing, posting, how to gain followers...etc.

Alrighty... my best advice for new bloggers.
1.) Be Yourself! Write like you are talking to friends and family.

2.) Please, Please, PLEASE make sure your email address is attached to your profile! People want to respond to your comments and if you don't have your email attached then they can't. If you don't know how to add your email address check out my Blogging Tips posts for the how-to.

3.) Don't use the word verification for your comments.
If you are nervous about spam comments then just moderate your comments.

4.) Link up to parties to get your ideas out there. It brings people to your blog.

5.) To add to #4, Check out other people's links at parties and comment. Say hello, say something, let them know you were there so they can respond (since you have your email attached to your profile) and possibly come by and visit your blog BUT DO NOT leave a "Please come visit my blog." or "Please follow my blog." message. That just turns people off.

6.) Add links/images to past projects somewhere on your blog. This will help keep people around a while if something else catches their eye. LinkWithin is a great tool to use for this. Just add it to the end of your posts and it will always show past posts that a reader may be interested in checking out. Or you can just add images to your sidebar. Up to you.

7.) Try to schedule your post the day or a few days before they are going to post.
I always write my post for the next day the night before and schedule it. All my post, except my Catch a Glimpse party posts, publish at 8 am unless I am just terribly busy that I can't write it up the night before. And if you can write a couple post a few days out, that just crosses something off your to-do list.


Ok, I think I will stop there.

Glitter Art

Oh my goodness!
I FINALLY made something!
I tried to make something else and every attempt was a complete fail so I need to reevaluate it and come back.
So while thinking, I started on something that I have had an idea to try for quite some time now.

Here's my new take on Glitter Art.

Love the way it shimmers in the sunlight!

Here's the how-to:
Supplies:
-Acrylic Paint
-Glitter Glue
-Glue in your choice of colors (I went for a fall theme)
-Canvas or Wood
(I used wood. It was an old desk that I designed and my dad built and it got messed up in one of our moves. So, I had Travis break it apart and cut down the pieces so I could use them as canvases.)

To start:
Paint the raw edges of the wood or canvas. I painted it a metallic silver at first then switched it to metallic gold but forgot to take a picture.

Tape off your design. I decided to do stripes.
Press firmly on the edges of the tape so there is no bleeding of the glue.

Paint on the glitter glue then sprinkle the glitter color of your choice.

Tear off tape and let dry.

Once the glue is dry on the first stripes, tape off to do the larger stripes.
Don't worry, only a little bit of the glitter comes off on the tape as long as it's dry!

Paint glue and sprinkle next color. Let dry.

Tape off again and continue.

Completely glittered.

I plan to add a picture hook to the back of the wood and hang it up for some glittery autumn decor.

TIP: Place wax paper under your project to catch extra glitter. Tap off excess glitter on to wax paper and before switching colors, put the excess glitter back in the container.


The possibilities with this is endless!

Tasty Tuesday: Asian Pork and Vegetable Stir-Fry

I decided to change things up this week and search Betty Crocker for a recipe.

Going crazy, I know! lol

Asian Pork and Vegetable Stir-Fry

Prep Time: 30 mins
Total Time: 30 mins
Makes: 2 servings

What You Need:

-1/2 cup uncooked instant brown rice
-1 cup water
-1 boneless pork loin chop (4 oz), cut into thin bite-size strips
-2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
-1 medium onion, cut into thin wedges
-1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
-1 can (18.5 oz) Progresso® Light homestyle vegetable and rice soup
-1 tablespoon stir-fry sauce
-1 cup fresh snow pea pods
-2 tablespoons sliced almonds, if desired

Make It:
-In 1-quart saucepan, cook rice in water as directed on package, omitting butter.

-Meanwhile, in 12-inch nonstick skillet, place pork, mushrooms and onion; sprinkle with garlic powder. Cook over high heat 4 to 6 minutes, stirring frequently, until pork begins to brown. Stir in soup and stir-fry sauce; heat to boiling. Stir in pea pods. Cook over high heat 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pea pods are crisp-tender.

-Serve pork mixture over rice; sprinkle with almonds.

ENJOY!!

Fibi & Clo Sandals, Review

I was recently asked if I would like to review a pair of sandals from a new company called Fibi and Clo. I checked out their website, saw how cute they were, and jumped at the chance.

Before I show you the sandals that I received, let me give you a little background information on the company.

Fibi and Clo began in May 2009 by AnaLiza Alba. She yearned for an idea that would get her home to Texax without getting in the way of a career she loved in New York. An idea suddenly sparkedin her head- What if she developed a line of sandals that she could take to Texas for trunk shows - like tupperware parties, but with shoes? And so she began her new adventure. Shortly after the successful launch of the brand and the positive feedback of the consumers, the online boutique, Fibi and Clo, went live.


So back to the pair of sandals I got to review.
I received my sandals very quickly in the mail.
They came all wrapped up in a little bag.

I opened them up to find this pair, Smoke Cascade.
