Celebrating Baby M

It was at my parent's house and my mom and sister were the hostesses and they did a fabulous job making and putting everything together.

My mom, me, and my sister

Here I am before the shower ready for the guests to arrive.

Now let's dive into all the fun stuff, the party details!

The guests were greeted at the front door with this cute decor mesh wreath my sister made.

Tasty Tuesday: Carrot Cake Cupcakes

I spotted this recipe on the Betty Crocker website and since Easter is coming up, I thought it would be fun to share.

Carrot Cake Cupcakes

Prep Time: 20 mins
Total Time: 1 hr and 40 mins
Makes: 24 servings

Ingredients:
-1 box Betty Crocker® SuperMoist® carrot cake mix
-Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box
-3 rolls Betty Crocker® Fruit Roll-Ups® punch berry chewy fruit snack (from 5-oz box)
-3 green-colored sour candies, separated into strips
-1 container Betty Crocker® Rich & Creamy cream cheese frosting
-1 cup chocolate cookie crumbs

Make it:
-Heat oven to 350°F. Place paper baking cups in each of 24 regular-size muffin cups. Bake and cool cupcakes as directed on package for 24 cupcakes.

-Meanwhile, cut fruit snack into triangles. Roll up fruit snack to make a carrot shape. Repeat with remaining fruit snacks to make about 30 carrots. Cut green sour candies in half crosswise; cut each half into quarters lengthwise to make thin strips of green candy. Press thin green strips into large end of carrot to make greens on carrot. Repeat with remaining candy.

-Spread frosting over cupcakes. Sprinkle with cookie crumbs. Randomly place carrot shapes on tops of cupcakes or press them into cupcakes to make them look like they are planted.

ENJOY!!

Baby M Update: Week 30

How far along? 30 weeks
Total weight gain: I know I gained the 10 lbs and I am sure I have gained a few more especially since I feel like she grew so much since last week.
Maternity clothes? Here lately, I've been wearing a good amount of maternity clothes because we have been really busy and I've been traveling so I just wanted to be the most comfortable but I am still wearing a lot of my normal clothes as well.
Stretch marks?
nope :) And I'm thrilled!
Sleep: It's been ok. I got sick this week right after I got back in town so I wake up with coughing spells. I hope it goes away soon!
Best moment this week: Coming home to the hubs and we've gotten a ton of projects done the past couple of days trying to get it all done before Travis deploys this week.
Miss Anything? I'm going back to- being pain free!
Movement: Big time! She's a mover and a shaker!
Food cravings: I didn't crave anything this week.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope, I've been good this week.
Gender: GIRL!!
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button (in or out): Still in and really hasn't pushed out much more but I am sure by the end, it will finally pop!
Wedding Rings (on or off): On
Symptoms: Back pain and round ligament pain. On occasion when I stand or do to much, I've noticed some swelling in my ankles.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy
Looking forward to: Spending the next few days with Travis before he deploys.

Nursery Project #2: Fabric Bird Mobile Tutorial

I used this as my submission into Round 3 of Creative Bloggers Got Talent competition and I made it into the Top 10 with it. :)

I wanted something fun and whimsical for a mobile for Baby M and since we aren't buying a bedding set and making our own, I knew I would be making it. So here is what I came up with:

And after she gets to old for a mobile, it can stay as a cute decoration in another place in the room! PERFECT! :)

Tasty Tuesday: Creamy Pasta with Crispy Salami

I saw this recipe on the Martha Stewart show and it looked so easy and yummy that I decided to give it a whirl last weekend.
And it was GOOD!

-3 eggs
-1 cup grated Parmesan
-4 ounces salami
-Olive oil
-3 crushed garlic cloves
-3/4 pound spaghetti
-Salt and pepper
-Chopped parsley

-Whisk together eggs and Parmesan in a large bowl.
-Cut salami into 1/2-inch strips. Heat a skillet over medium-high, then coat with olive oil. Cook salami and garlic until salami is crisp.

Baby M Update: Week 29

Big belly at 29 weeks!
Our sweet baby girl giving us a grin at our 3D/4D Ultrasound on Tuesday afternoon.
She is so FREAKING cute if I do say so myself! ;)

How far along? 29 weeks
Total weight gain: I have gained 10 lbs. since reaching my pre-pregnancy weight again.
Maternity clothes? Here lately, I've been wearing a good amount of maternity clothes because we have been really busy and I've been traveling so I just wanted to be the most comfortable.
Stretch marks?
nope :) And I'm thrilled!
Sleep: Not too terrible but not too great either.
Best moment this week: Having a 3D/4D ultrasound last week and seeing Baby M's beautiful face and trying to figure out whose features she has! :) Also, I flew to TN on Thursday and had my baby shower this weekend so it was so nice seeing family and friends and celebrating Baby M.
Miss Anything? I'm going back to- being pain free!
Movement: Big time! She's a mover and a shaker!
Food cravings: I didn't crave anything this week.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Well... nothing food wise or the like but I tried to end my Zofran again now that I am in the 3rd trimester and apparently I will have to take these darn pills until the end. :(
Gender: GIRL!!
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button (in or out): Still in and really hasn't pushed out much more but I am sure by the end, it will finally pop!
Wedding Rings (on or off): On
Symptoms: Back pain and unfortunately I now have round ligament pain going on. So if I don't hurt in the back, I hurt in the front and bad! This ligament pain is NO fun!
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy
Looking forward to: Heading home on Tuesday to be with Travis again before he deploys at the end of the month.

Denver Blogger Meet-up

Over the weekend, I headed up to Denver for a Colorado Blogger Meet-up that was hosted by Ashley from Make It and Love It.

It was a lot of fun and TONS of people were there!
Here is a quick recap for those of you not in the area or for those of you who are and just couldn't attend.

When you walked up, you had to get a name tag to sign in and get a number for the giveaways that would occur later. We also got cute little goodie bags with Martha Stewart paint inside.

Lots of good food was devoured quickly by all and then there were all the amazing cupcakes made by Alison from Oopsey Daisy and Kirstin from Kojo Designs that were delicious!

Baby M Update- Week 27

HELLO 3rd trimester!!
You have arrived quickly and I can't believe I am starting the home stretch!

How far along? 27 weeks
Total weight gain: I will find out Tuesday what additional weight I have gained since my initial 4 lbs after getting back up to pre-pregnancy weight.
Maternity clothes? Again, still in normal clothes with the occasional maternity shirt that I own. I wore one pair of maternity pants again this week. I'm not too sure how I feel about them yet. They are kinda a pain in the butt! lol
Stretch marks? nope :) And I'm thrilled!
Sleep: I slept ok this week. Not to great but not terrible either.
Best moment this week: When Travis came home on Tuesday morning and I FINALLY ordered the fabric for the nursery on Thursday! :)
Miss Anything? It would have been nice to have some wine with the hubby once he got home.
Movement: Big time! She's a mover and a shaker. I've can feel her having hiccups in the mornings before I get out of bed as well.
Food cravings: Not really craving anything this week but cinnamon donuts sure sounded good!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Felt sick a couple times this week but not sure from what. I know one reason was from taken my prenatal pill a little too long after lunch.
Gender: GIRL!!
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button (in or out): Still in but slowly but surely making it's way out!
Wedding Rings (on or off): On
Symptoms: Back pain and unfortunately I know have round ligament pain going on. So if I don't hurt in the back, I hurt in the front and bad! This ligament pain is NO fun!
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy
Looking forward to: Seeing baby girl again on Tuesday morning! :)

And I am going to add:
Dreading anything? I have to go take my glucose test today and I am DREADING it!! I absolutely HATE all things orange so I am not looking forward to that drink at all. I really don't think I have gestational diabetes so I am not worried about that but it is kinda nerve wrecking.
