Lose the Paint Can Clutter! An Idea from my Husband

Howdy everyone!
My handsome hubby is here today asking for a little help to get an idea he has made.
So please read through his post and vote for his awesome idea!!
Thanks! :)

Hello fellow DIYers! My wife, Allison, has graciously allowed me to guest blog so I can ask for your help.

Pile 'o Cans
Like many of you, we do a lot of projects around the house. Almost all of those involve paint, and as a result, we have a huge stack of paint cans in our garage. Most are 1/2 to 3/4 full, which we could use for a future project or touch-ups.  It would be a waste of money and hazardous to the environment to throw them out, but they look bad, take up a ton of room in our small garage, and eventually rust or dry out.  I thought to myself, "There has to be a better way!" The answer must meet the following criteria:
1. Save Space (smaller container)
2. Save Paint (no rust, little air)

The Solution!

After much deliberation and tinkering, I believe I've found a solution.  In the kitchen, if we want to save leftover food, we  use tupperware or vacuum-sealed bags to keep the food convenient and fresh.  I've taken this concept and moved it to the garage.  What I propose is a series of screw top plastic containers in 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4 gallon sizes.  The screw top ensures that the container will be air tight and spill proof.  On the side of the container, a plastic sleeve would be available so you could slide in a paint swatch or other piece of paper with information such as color, mixture number, and/or location in the house (bedroom, bathroom, etc.) Being plastic, they will never rust and are reusable.  Being a smaller size, they will take up much less space, and since the paint will fill the majority of the container, paint-drying air will be significantly reduced.

With air being the enemy here, I took it one step further.  In the lid of each container, there would be a small "bubble pump".   Check out the picture for a better visual, but basically it would work like the old "pump" basketball shoes in reverse, pulling air out instead of in.  A couple of quick pumps of the bubble pulls air from the inside of the container, both vacuum sealing the container and pulling extra air out of the container and away from the paint.
A few quick pumps pulls air out of the container
Here is a short video that basically says everything I've just told you, but in sweet high definition (not really), and stars George Clooney (don't get your hopes up):

Okay, I'm sure by now you've said to yourself, "What a genius idea! Where can I buy some?!" Well, bad news. No one sells anything like it. Not Lowes, not Home Depot, not even anyone on the internet. So that's why I need your help.

You may have heard of a invention website called Quirky.com.  Inventors submit their ideas and the community votes on if they like it or not. Every week, the Quirky staff picks a few ideas and does the grunt work or prototype, manufacturing, and marketing. The inventors, and members of the community that help bring the invention to life then get a cut of the profits!  More info can be found on the website.

I've submitted the Paint Saver idea to Quirky, and I need your help to get it made. Now, I know you'll have to sign up to vote, but you could always look at other inventions or even submit your own!  You can sign up HERE.  You can find Paint Saver System idea HERE.
Every vote matters, so I implore you...please take a minute out of your day to help get this idea on the shelves of a store near you!

Thank you and happy crafting! - Travis
