"Give Thanks" Plaque

With Halloween being tomorrow, I thought it would be ok if I skip ahead to Thanksgiving now.
I actually made this last year and shared it on a friend's blog and never had the chance to share it here with all of you. So here ya go!

Here is a simple craft that anyone can do in a short period of time.

Give Thanks Plaque

Here's how you can create your own.
Supplies:
-Plaque (You can buy a plain wooden one from a craft store but I had this from a Habitat for Humanity Restore. It is a kitchen drawer front.)
-Scrapbook Paper
-Mod Podge
-Dimensional Magic (I used the Gold Glitter option.)
-A cutting machine to cut your letters out. Could stickers or chip board letters as well.

To start:
Place your scrapbook paper over the plaque and rub your fingers over the raised edge to crease the paper.

You paper will have then be creased in the shape of the top portion of the plaque so just follow those marks and cut out.

All cut out and ready to be glued down.

Mod Podge your paper in place.
I did NOT coat the top of the paper at this time. Only used the Mod Podge to glue down the paper.

Once the Mod Podge is dry, take a file and go over the edges of the paper. This will remove and paper that is slightly larger in spot than your plaque.

See... paper was slightly larger and just filed it right off.

I then took my chalk ink out that I use for scrapbooking, and used it on the edges to darken the white edges of the paper and add a little weathered look.

I used my Cricut to cut out the words "Give Thanks." I cut out a shadow in the pink and then the actually letters in brown.

Glued the two letters together and let dry.
Again, you can use stickers or chip board letters for this part.

I then Mod Podged the letters onto the scrapbook paper and gave the letters one last coat of Mod Podge to seal it.

When the Mod Podge was dry, I took the Dimensional Magic with gold glitter and coated each inner letter.

Dimensional Magic all dry. Nice and raised and glittery!

And we are done!
Super easy project and fast as well.

It is the perfect finishing touch over my stove in my little window alcove!

I hope you guys enjoyed this easy project!
