Ric Rac Flower Tutorial

I have seen a few tutorials for Ric Rac flowers on Pinterest. 

Here are links to two that I have pinned, The Crafting Chicks and Ucreate. 

I love the look of Ric Rac flowers, I think because they remind me of a Ranunculus which I LOVE, so I decided I wanted to give them a go for P's Easter Basket. 

Here's how to create your own:

Begin by cutting your ric rac to length.

Simple Easter Basket

I wanted to make Miss P her Easter basket.

I had a few ideas in mind and finally got around to messing with it. 

It isn't the most fabulous Easter basket around but I am pretty happy with it and I think it will be able to put a few good years of use in. 

Here is how I went about creating her basket.

Supplies:

-Basket of some sort (I bought a metal bucket type basket from Hobby Lobby.)

-Fabric for liner (I used an old white table cloth.)

-Sewing Machine

-Ric Rac Ribbon

-Vinyl

-Glue Gun

-Felt

-Twine or Ribbon

Welcome Spring!

Happy first day of Spring!! 

I am so happy spring has arrived! 

Now, if the warmer weather would just decide to stick around and convince the flowers and trees to start blooming around here. 

I am SOOOOOO tired of all the brown here in CO! Really makes me miss being back home in the South! 

I hope that Spring comes to your neck of the woods soon!

Dear Lizzy Fifth & Frolic Product Review

I had the pleasure of having the opportunity to check out the new scrapbook line from American Crafts designed by Dear Lizzy herself, Liz Kartchner, Fifth & Frolic. 

The Fifth and Frolic line features crisp blues, pinks, greens, yellows and airy neutrals with hints of gold. You can check out the full line at American Crafts. 

The Fifth & Frolic paper crafting line will debut in all JoAnn’s stores March 17 so be sure to pop on over and pick up some for yourself!  

Like I mentioned before, I got the opportunity to check out the new line and it was a fun day when this arrived at my doorstep! 

I decided to create something for my shutters downstairs instead of the normal wreath I put on it. 

 So I got to work creating this Embroidery Hoop Art.

  

It was very simple to do.

Some of My Favorite Baby Items

Miss P is ever so slowing inching her way into toddlerhood, :( boo, and it got me thinking about what my favorite baby items have been so far since it is time to start packing a lot of it away or getting rid of it.

I decided to make a little round up of some of my favorite baby items and items that have worked GREAT for us. 

I got all of these images and links from the Babies R Us website but many of them are sold in other stores, in fact, I know I bought some of these in other stores.

1.) Boppy Newborn Lounger- I LOVE this thing!! It is great for placing that sleeping baby in or when they can't roll over quite yet and you need to run to the bathroom or get that load of laundry put into the dryer. We actually still put Miss P in this for her to drink her bottles. 

2.) Skip Hop Moby Bathtub Elbow Rest- Makes bath time so much more comfortable!

Summer Lovin' Wreath Tutorial

I'm on a wreath making kick. 

I made my Spring Chevron Wreath last week and I already made one for summer as well. 

I was just too excited when I found everything to make it, I just couldn't wait! :) 

It is so simple to do and real fast too! 

Here's how to do it! 

Supplies:

-Grape vine wreath 

-Canvas flowers (I bought mine at Hobby Lobby but you can make them too.)

-Buttons

-Moss Ribbon or real moss

-Stickles

Spring Chevron Wreath Tutorial

I am SOOOOO ready for spring! 

We were teased with temps in the 60s this weekend and then it snowed 3 inches Monday afternoon. BLAH!! 

But when it was warm I got my craft on making a fun spring wreath to hopefully encourage the weather to warm up. 

 I am super thrilled with how it came out and it was a fast, east project too! 

Here's how to make it.

Supplies:

-Wreath Form

-Chevron Ribbon 

(I bought mine at Hobby Lobby but I know sites like Very Jane or Groopdealz sometimes have them.)

-Styrofoam Eggs

-Burlap

Denver's New World Market Fun!

Hi all! 

If you recall, last Wednesday I shared all about the new World Market store in Denver having its Grand Re-opening celebration this week.

Well, this Wednesday, I got to go the the Celebration party to check out the new store.

 It was super fun and the store is great! 

I grabbed my two shopping buddies and we drove on up to Denver for the event. 

Travis enjoys World Market too so it wasn't too hard to convince him to come.
