What's in Your Handbag Series: Gina from Hiya Luv

Hiya! My name is Gina and I blog at hiyaluv.com
I am a wife, fur mama to 1 pup and 2 kitties, lover of college sports, and runner. I enjoy being physically active, lead a busy life, work 3 jobs, and am always trying to improve myself. I love to learn and am always looking for ways to enrich my life through new experiences.

I am excited to be sharing my messy purse with you today and really appreciate Allison inviting me to partake in such a fun blog series! Purses are typically so private. Nobody wants to go in somebody else's purse--- even a close friend's or family member's so this was particularly fun to write!

Floral Stenciled Pallet Art

This post is sponsored by Plaid Crafts via The Blueprint Social. I received materials for this project and compensation for my time, but as always: all opinions are most definitely my own!

I have a fun project for you today using the new Ed Roth's Stencil1 line and FolkArt Multi-Surface Paint from Plaid Crafts. You will soon be able to find the stencils at JoAnn Fabric and Craft Stores.

The Stencil1 stencils have large formats that are perfect for walls, floors and furniture. They are also very durable and made from reusable mylar which is very easy to clean with soap and water.
FolkArt Multi-Surface paints are great on any surface, including both indoor and outdoor applications. They are even dishwasher safe! How great is that?!

Our bedroom was the only room that didn't have ANY sort of art on the walls. How sad is that?!
So I asked Travis to built me a pallet from all the wood we had and I wanted it in an oval... well it turned out to be more like a football shape but that's ok, and got to work with my new stencil.

If you are someone that has never used a stencil before and is nervous to try it out... Don't be!! It isn't as scary as you think it may be!
Here is how I created my stenciled art.

 Supplies:
- Ed Roth Stencil1 stencil (I received this Cherry Blossom stencil)
-Wood Pallet
-FolkArt Multi-Surface Paint
-Stencil brushes
-Paper Plate

Free Spring Printables

I am so thrilled Spring is finally here!
I can't wait for it to actually show itself here in CO but unfortunately that won't be until another month or so.

But to encourage the warmer weather to stick around and those pretty flowers and trees to bloom, I created some printable for all of you.

I created these as 8x10s but you should be able to print them smaller if you would like.
Not positive how clear they will be if you make them larger.

You can choose your print to download below.

{Feature Friday} #140

After 2 weeks of being gone for work, Travis finally came home last night and I am thrilled!!!
Even though we had a relatively decent time, Miss P was starting to get really frustrated when I would try to go wake Miss S up in the morning and I think it was because she was missing the extra attention from her daddy. She is SUCH a daddy's girl!
And I have been sick twice since he has been gone so I am definitely looking forward to being able to relax a little and hopefully finally get rid of this cold that is now lingering.

ANYWAYS... you don't want to hear about that do you?
You want to see some great features from this week's Catch a Glimpse party don't you?!

Well, here ya go!

What's in Your Handbag Series- Rachel from Holy Craft

Rachel from Holy Craft is here today to share her handbag with all of you.
Take it away Rachel!

Hello Glimpse Inside readers!  My name is Rachel and you can find me over at Holy Craft, a home and family blog, written by me, a stay at home mom of three in the Seattle area.
I love to share my tips and tricks for living well on less and creating and crafting on a budget.

Speaking of budgets,
check out my spring purse.
I picked up this bad boy for $1 at a garage sale two years ago.
I have gotten so many compliments on it!
I think it was well worth the dollar.

You caught me just a few weeks after I switched my purses,
so lucky for me I'm not super embarrassed about the nastiness I would be sharing with you inside my purse.
Give me a few weeks and I will have far more trash, wrappers and unused coupons.

Ice Cream Cone Party Decor Tutorial

My friend Amber over at Crazy Little Projects is having a big ole birthday bash for her birthday and her blog's birthday this week. She is sharing ideas and having some big giveaways.

I am helping her celebrate by sharing a party decor idea and a round up of ice cream parties ideas.

I am already starting to think about Miss P's 2nd birthday. AHHHH! How crazy is that?!
I thought that since her birthday is at the end of May that an ice cream themed birthday party would be a fun idea.

I came up with this idea that could be used for either centerpieces or just scattered around the party on the food table, etc.

Here is how I created it:

Supplies:
-Styrofoam Balls
-A small pot
-Smooth and Finish
-Paint
-Styrofoam tools (optional)
-Beads

Fabric Applique' Art

"The following review is part of the Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores® National Craft Month campaign. I received compensation for this review, but all ideas and opinions are 100% my own."

I recently decided to redo our guest bathroom to make it more for the girl's and less for guests since we rarely have guests and well, the girls use it all the time now.

I was able to sneak away one evening to do some shopping at Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Store for some supplies for an art project for the bathroom. Jo-Ann makes spring crafting easy during National Craft Month with a $5 off $25 or more purchase coupon and a spring crafting inspiration website.

After browsing the spring trends I decided to use some florals and geometric shapes in my project.

Here is what I came up with.
I created two separate canvases with fabric appliques' them.

Here is how I created them.

Supplies:
-Canvases
-Fabric
-Paint
-Paint brush
-Stencils
-Mod Podge for Fabric
-Twine
-Rotary Cutter

{Feature Friday} #139

I am so thrilled it is Friday!!
Has this week dragged on for anyone else?

No? Just me?!
Perhaps it is because Travis has been gone for work since Saturday and won't be back for another week and taking care of the girls alone, with no break, has made it drag! Didn't help I was sick at the beginning of the week and it took me a few days to get back to feeling fully normal again.

Anyways, you aren't here to read about how my week is going slow. I know you really just want to see the features from this week's Catch a Glimpse Party

Well here ya go!!

"Keep Looking Up..." Printable

I created this printable for Miss S' room but thought I would share it with all of you right now because it would definitely make some cute St. Patrick's Day decor.

I framed it and placed it on the picture ledge above her crib but this would be cute on a mantle, used for some party decor, or just framed for everyday use like I am using mine.

You can download the print below.
Enjoy!!

4 Month Adventures of Miss S

Sorry it's been a little quiet here.
I came down with the stomach bug on Sunday and Travis is out in the field for work so with trying to take care of the kiddos alone and being sick, I just couldn't manage to post.

After being sick for 48 hrs, I am feeling back like myself. Thank goodness!!

I have been wanting to write this post for a while now and am just getting around to it.
Miss S turned 4 mths old on the 1st which is crazy so here is her month in review.

We started the month with our normal photoshoot.
My mom made her monthly patch like usual.
And you wouldn't know it by these pics but boy this girl made me WORK for those smiles!!

{Feature Friday} #138

Finally getting today's post up. Once Travis got home last night, I snuck out to do a little shopping, alone, and didn't get home until late so I just wanted to relax.

Bigstock Art Photo Review + GIVEAWAY & 5 day FREE Trial

It is always fun to be able to freshen up and change your decor, whether it be with the seasons or just for a nice change of pace.
It is even better to be able to do it without paying a fortune.

I recently received this print from Bigstock Photo to help give my decor a new look.
I pick a 16 x 24 print of these beautiful poppies.
I LOVE poppies so as soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted it.

"Hanging with my Peeps" Vinyl Shirt Tutorial

I know it isn't even St. Patrick's Day yet but I am busting out an Easter project today because I am so darn excited about it!

I have been wanting to create something with t-shirt vinyl for some time now and just wasn't quite sure what.
I knew making something for the girls would be the easiest thing to do, I just had to figure out what I wanted to make.
I was browsing online one evening and saw a shirt similar to this design and when I saw it, I just knew that is what I wanted to do!

I love to order my vinyl, of any kind, from Expressions Vinyl and I knew they came out with all sorts of new heat transfer vinyls so I popped on over to their site and got to ordering.

Here is what I created for the girls to wear around Easter.
Isn't it super cute?! I sure do love it!
Travis actually thought I bought the shirts instead of making them. I love that compliment!!!

Here is how I created them.

Supplies:
-T-shirt or onesie
-Heat Transfer Vinyl (I used Stripflock Vinyl and Easyweed Vinyl from Expressions Vinyl)
-Cutting Machine- I used my Silhouette Machine
-Iron
-Ironing Board or hard surface
