Alphabet Flashcards Printables

Miss P is starting preschool in September... CRAZY!!
It is only 2 days a week for 3 hours each day but I am totally excited for her and me for that matter.

She is a pretty smart little girl but I want to help in her learning a little more before and after she starts school.
I have been wanting to create some alphabet flashcards for some time now and I finally got around to creating them.

I must say, I love how they came out too! :)

Miss P seemed to enjoy them as well!
We would work on the letter name, sound, and say the name of the picture as well.

Back to School Subway Art Printable

I can't believe that summer is coming to an end for many of you teachers and your kiddos!
I have many friends and family back home in TN preparing to start a new year.

I signed Miss P up for preschool this year but we still have another month before she starts but I decided to make a printable for the start of the school year.

DIY Growth Chart #CreativeBuzz

Hey everyone!
I am thrilled to join in with some other fabulous bloggers for a monthly blog hop- #CreativeBuzz. Every 4th Thursday of the month, we will share projects and ideas surrounding a certain theme.
Check out my project and then you can check out what the other bloggers have created at the bottom of the post.

This month theme was numbers. I had no idea what I wanted to make until I remembered that I have been wanting to make a growth chart FOREVER now for the girls so this was the perfect time to make it!

It was easy as well!

Here is how I created it.
I went to Lowes and bought a piece of wood that was 10 in. wide and 6 ft tall.
I knew I was going to paint it white so I didn't care about the knots in the wood so I bought a cheaper board. This was only $10.
If you want to stain your chart, you can buy a piece of pine for a little more money.

Kitchen Remodel Reveal... Finally!

You guys, I am so excited to finally share our kitchen remodel with you all!
We started our kitchen last summer, LAST SUMMER PEOPLE! A year ago the 14th to be exact.

The majority of it was done quickly but there were two items I had to wait awhile on to be complete. One got finished right after Miss S was born and the other item JUST got completed a week ago.
If you follow me on Instagram, you have gotten glimpses of our kitchen since it was started a year ago.

Are you ready to see our kitchen?
This is a pretty picture heavy post so warning!

I am going to go back to the very beginning and break down everything we did, found, and added to our kitchen.

This is what our kitchen looked like when we bought the house.
Box store cabinets in that glorious orange finish, linoleum floors, laminate counters.

The floors were ripped out as soon as we closed and replaced with the dark hardwood floors we put down throughout the first floor which then made our cabinets even oranger looking.

When we decided to replace our counters and start our kitchen, it was cheaper if we took off the counters and old tile back splash ourselves.

{Fabulous Features} #4

I hope you all are having a lovely week!
We have had some CRAZY rain here in my neck of the woods and poor Travis is in the field training.

Anyways... here are a few of the great ideas that caught my eye from last week's Handmade Hangout Party.

What's in your Handbag Series: Michelle from Delicate Construction

Howdy! Michelle from Delicate Construction is here today showing off her handbag.
Take a peek inside!

Hello all!
I'm Michelle from Delicate Construction and I was lucky enough to meet Allison at SNAP! and I instantly thought she was awesome! I knew I would have to participate in this series but truthfully, I planned on prepping in advance. I wanted to pick up a new purse, organize things a bit, get some fun little additions to put in but, well, not one of those things happened. I have my same old bargain purse, but I tried to fancy her up a bit with my photo backdrop, what do you think?

whats in my handbag

Yeah, I have not really gotten to that stage in my life where I invest in a really nice purse- hopefully soon. And by invest I mean, someone else buys it for me, like for a birthday or something because I could never justify it myself. I always end up at the craft store whenever I go shopping so instead of lots of shoes and accessories, I have washi tape and permanent markers.
But back to the hand bag, I was going to leave some of this stuff out but what is the fun in that? This is a true picture of the things, some random, that I have in my purse right now- arranged in a semi-organized manner for photographing.

Life with Little Girls...

** This shop is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and Playtex, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #RefreshYourNursery  http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV **

If you don't have a little girl, or in my case multiple little girls in your life, it sure is interesting!!

I LOVE my girls!
Couldn't imagine having little boys but they definitely change your world, like any child would, but they change your home just as much!

The color pink just begins to force itself into your decor no matter how hard you try to keep it away.
Toys, blankets, tables, you name... those girlie pinks appear!

8 mth Adventures of Miss S

How am I already writing up Miss S' 8 mth adventure post?
I feel like I just wrote up her 7 mth post.

But here is a recap of all the fun adventures that happened over the last month.

8 month photo shoot occurred just like every other month on her monthly birthday.
She is getting interesting to photograph because she is now super interested in the camera.

How to Make a Tutu

**This post is sponsored by The Hair Bow Company.**

I hope you all had a lovely 4th of July weekend!
We had a fun time and Travis even has today off work so we are making the most of this long weekend for him.

I have another easy tutorial for you today.

For Miss P's birthday, my mom made her a shirt to go with the ice cream theme so I decided to bust out a tutu, at the last minute, to go with it.
It literally only took me like an hour to create this so you can definitely do this quickly!

Here is how to make it:
 Supplies:
-Tulle- colors of your choice
-Crochet Top or headband
-Scissors
-Yard Stick

I received all items from The Hair Bow Company to make this tutu.

What's in Your Handbag Series: Sarah from Printable Charm

Today, Sarah from Printable Charm is showing off her handbag.
I met Sarah at SNAPand she is a super fabulous lady! :) I encouraged this girl to actually USE her instagram account and she was a picture taking machine then!

Charmed, I’m Sure…
How do I know you and I would get along famously where we to grab a cup of tea or coffee together? Because we have Allison in common!

Hi, I’m Sarah Bell, founder of PrintableCharm.com
I met Allison this spring at the SNAP conference while stuffing goodie bags. Talk about a bonding experience! We eventually (after stuffing 400 of the 500 bags) had our system humming. I endured about 400 squats before we figured it out, but who's counting?

I am honored to give you lovely ladies a glimpse inside my handbag.
I have to tell you…this is the first handbag I have purchased somewhere other than Target as an adult. Really! Even when all my friends were upgrading their purses, I stuck to my tried and true. But after a recent trip to New York City, I am a changed woman.
As I was boarding my flight en route, I looked around at my fellow passengers and felt so out of place! Well, I was out of place. I hail from a tiny town in Louisiana. It's not like I have never been to the city before, though. My husband and I traveled the world before we were parents. For this flight, however, I was dressed *ahem* comfortably. Not only were the other women on the flight mostly dressed in black, but they appeared to have it all together. My “one personal item” was overflowing with what I deemed necessary as I was packing. While the amount of just-in-case items I packed was admittedly excessive, it all seemed like a good idea at the time. And, really…what couldn’t I have purchased in NYC if I needed it?! I vowed to step it up for my next trek and purchased this gem of a bag from Coach. Not that a Target bag couldn’t do the same task, but I was looking for durability. I need a bag as hardworking as I would like to be!
