A friend and I had a day of shopping for crafts supplies and then a fun day of crafting a few weeks ago.
While we were out I picked up this large wooden initial and at first was going to decorate it for fall and place it on our door but as I started, things changed and this is what I created.
This really is a super easy project to create.
Here is how you can make one for yourself.
-Large wooden initial (I bought this one at Hobby Lobby)
-Ribbon or fabric
-Hot Glue Gun
-Small staple gun
I decided that I wanted to place this on the wall on our covered porch and I recently just sewed some pillows for our furniture out there so I decided to match the colors in the pillow fabric.
I painted the letter with an ombre effect with 3 different blue hues to match the blue flowers in the fabric.
You can always just painted your letter one color if you prefer
Make sure you also paint the sides of your letter!
I then took ribbon in the same colors as other flowers in the fabric and whipped up some rosettes for a little detail. I just hot glued them together and then hot glued them onto the letter.
Not sure how to make a rosetter? You can check out my old post, Crepe Paper Rose Wreath to learn how.
I used a ribbon the same color as my top paint color on my letter to create a way to hang my letter.
I hot glued it to the back of the letter and then used a hand held staple gun to add staples on the ribbon for extra hold.
If hanging this inside, I would recommend covering the staples with ribbon or just hot glue to protect your wall from the staples.
And that's it!!
I love how it came out and it looks great with the new pillows!
I will try to share our front porch soon before the weather gets to nasty to even want to go out there!
