Cream Linen Ribbon Wreath

I have another wreath for you today.
This will probably turn into my new spring/summer wreath to change things up a bit. It is clean, simple, and I love how it came out!

I created this just like I do with my burlap bubble wreaths but I just used some regular ribbon instead. And I decided to incorporate the welcome sign I made in the center of it for a little something extra but you don't need to do that.

Here is how I made it.

Supplies:
-Wreath form
-Ribbon (don't mind the one in the picture. I was originally going to use it and then changed my mind.)
-Floral Pins
-Welcome sign (optional)
-Fishing wire

Felt Ruffle Valentine Wreath

Stop the presses! I am actually here today with a new project for you! YAY!
AND I even finished something else over the weekend so perhaps my craft slump is fading.

Valentine's Day isn't that far away so I created a new wreath since the one I made a few years ago broke last year after a strong wind blew it off the door.

This wreath is super easy, though it does take a little time for all the cutting.

Here is how I made it.

Supplies:
- Outer Ring of an Embroidery Hoop, I used a 10 in. hoop
-Felt in your choice of colors
-Scissors or Rotary Cutter
-Straight Edge Ruler
-Self Healing Cutting Mat
-Hot Glue Gun
-Needle and thread (optional)

My Whole 30 Adventure- Week 3

This was suppose to go up on Thursday morning and well, life got in the way and I didn't finish it in time so a special Friday night post it is.

I'm not gonna lie to you guys, I didn't do too good this week. I may have cheated once or twice. BOO but I'll get over it. I am forging on and continuing until the end, cheats or not.

Anyways... here is what I ate this week.

Day 15:

What I ate:
Breakfast: Sunny side eggs, banana, hash browns that Travis made

Lunch: Cucumbers with chicken tenders

Dinner: Steak, brussel sprouts, and broccoli and yellow squash

Snacks: a few cashews

Drank water all day

I have noticed a change in my body. Can't really say I have ever noticed the energy change but I have been super busy so perhaps it is there.

{Feature Friday} #27

Happy Friday everyone!

I hope you have had a lovely week!

I am so sorry that I have been so sporadic with posts since the new year began. I feel like I have been in a slight slump and we have been so busy around the house that I just haven't had much time to sit down and relax much less craft and write up blog posts. I am hoping to get back into the swing of things soon!

Anyways... I have some great features for you today from last week's Handmade Hangout Party

The Handmade Hangout Party #32

It is time to party but before we do one of our fabulous hostesses is no longer able to host The Handmade Hangout with us, Karen from Redoux Interiors. She started her dream job so she won't be blogging too much anymore. But we wish her well in her new job!

My Whole 30 Adventure- Week 2

Today I am sharing my 2nd week on Whole 30.
What I ate, the highs, the lows, the whatever...

Day 8:

What I ate:
Breakfast: sunny side up eggs, and a banana

Lunch: the girls and I were running errands this day so I grab a salad topped with chicken from McDonald's and brought it home and used my own ranch dressing on it.

Dinner: Slow Cooker Pork Roast, brussel sprouts, and carrots

Snacks: almonds and pistachios
Drank water all day

I am getting to the point where my meals are holding me longer. I still get slightly hungry after dinner so that is normally when I have my snack. I also feel like my sweet tooth is going away. Haven't noticed a swing in energy yet OR that foods taste differently. People on Whole 30 always talk about their tastes buds coming alive and I can't say that is happening.

Day 9:

What I ate:
Breakfast: sunny side up eggs with grapes and strawberries

Lunch: Leftover pork roast on a baked potato with red onions and ranch dressing on top. Then carrots and ranch dressing for dipping.

Dinner: Spaghetti Squash boat- topped with ground beef, onions, garlic, and Whole 30 compliant spaghetti sauce.

Snacks: banana

Drank water all day.

I slept TERRIBLY the night before. Couldn't fall asleep or stay asleep very well. Was in a not so good mood as well. Also, my face is starting to break out really bad right now. Assuming this is the "gets worse before it gets better phase" but regardless it still stinks.

Master Bathroom Makeover Reveal

Ever since we bought and moved into our house we wanted to redo our master bathroom. It is a good size but the vanities were absolutely ridiculous and there was zero storage.
Every single room in our house that we had planned on getting a makeover, got its makeover already and that just left our bathroom as the ugliest room in our house.

We knew that even though we will be moving this year and probably selling our house, we HAD to get our bathroom makeover completed. So while Travis was off work over Christmas break, we decided now was the time to tackle it.

I am so thrilled it is done!! Ok, truthfully, it is 90% done but I just couldn't wait to share it with you guys.
Here is it!
We placed down tile floors and replaced the vanities while leaving the tub and shower alone. We were just giving it a facelift.

Now, let me show you the before...
Orange oak cabinets, crappy laminate tops, linoleum floors... nothing great what so ever!

The first full week of 2015 has come to an end. I hope it was nice to you!

My Whole 30 Adventure- Week 1

I decided to try out Whole 30 and began the journey on January 1st.
I told Travis about it and he was all excited to do it with me so we are tackling it together.

I work out, though I am just starting to get back into a good routine after the holidays, but I wanted to do something more to help me slim down the areas that I am not too thrilled about. I could use some improvements so I thought I would give Whole 30 a try. Can't be too bad right?!

I am going to share my journey here on a weekly basis.
Share how I am feeling, any struggles, and what we ate.

And in case you are wondering, the girls are eating what we eat. I am not making and serving two meals. They will probably eat something different than me for lunch since they are napping when I eat and I am sure their breakfasts will be different from time to time as well because I don't think I can get them to eat some form of eggs everyday but they will ALWAYS eat the same dinner that we eat.

And I just want to state, I am going to try to follow the Whole 30 program exactly but if something accidentally slips in that I'm not suppose to have, like I missed an ingredient on a label, I'm not going to freak out about it. Nobody is perfect, right?!

Also, I am no food blogger. I didn't take the time to make the food on my plate "pretty" so sorry! ;)

Day 1: January 1st.

What I ate:
Breakfast: I made a frittata with eggs, hash browns, red pepper, onion, and bacon that fits into the terms of Whole 30. Then baked bacon as a side.

Lunch: I was taking down Christmas decorations so I went with something quick... cucumbers, carrots, and cauliflower with a chicken and spinach sausage (from Target, Simple Balanced Brand.)

Dinner: Made a Balsamic pot roast with steamed veggies (carrots, broccoli, and cauliflower) as a side. This was very yummy, even the girls loved it so this will definitely be made again and probably kept as a meal after our 30 days is complete.

Snacks: A few pistachios and a banana

Drank water all day.

Easy DIY Welcome Sign

"I wrote this post as part of a paid campaign with Plaid Crafts, Michaels and Blueprint Social. The opinions in this post are 100% my own."

It has already been a super cold winter here in CO and I am definitely ready for the warmer temperatures to show their face again. You know it has been cold when high 40s and 50s feel like a heat wave!
It probably isn't a real good idea for me to already be looking forward to spring when it is the beginning of January but I am doing it anyways! So I have a super easy and quick craft for you today using Plaid's Spring Wood Surfaces available at Michaels.

Again, it is such an easy project so here is how I created it.

Supplies:
-Spring Wood Surfaces- frame and the word "welcome"

- Scrapbook Paper
-Acrylic paint in the colors of your choice
-Foam brush
-Chip board or this cardboard
-527 Glue or another strong multi-purpose glue
-Double sided tape or glue stick
-Outdoor Mod Podge (optional)

DIY Play Tent

I have been wanting to make the girls a tent or teepee for quite some time now and decided that it would be a fun Christmas gift.
My grandfather passed away at the beginning of September and I asked my mom to bring home all his sheets so I could use them as fabric. I got a whole trash bag full of awesome fun vintage florally sheets so when I talked to Travis about building a tent or teepee, I knew I would want to use some of the sheets.

After talking, we decided to make a tent for the girls and that way we could take it down really easily and pop it back up. So on December 23rd, yes, just 2 days BEFORE Christmas, we finally got started on this project! Travis built the tent the 23rd and I spent all day Christmas Eve sewing the fabric. Eek! Nothing like waiting until the last minute!
But I love how it came out.

Unfortunately, I do not have full step by step instructions for our tent but I can give you a basic run down on it.

Materials:
-For the front posts that make the tall frame of the tent we used- 4, 2 x 1/2 boards cut to 5 feet 1 1/4 in.

-For the front and back braces at the bottom of the tent they are cut 4 ft long.

-And lastly the side bottom braces and top on in the center brace is 4 ft. 10 inches. Travis used 1x1s but dowel rods would work perfectly as well.

You will also need small peg dowels that you use for joining furniture.

-Fabric

-Stain (optional)
