House Tour: Miss S's Room

I'm back today with another house tour post, this time sharing with you Miss S's new room.

Her room is rather small. The previous owners used it as a guest room/office.
It is to the left of the stairs as soon as you walk up the back stairs of the house.
Here is her room before. Wood floors, light beige walls, and some crazy curtains with an ivy accent.

We immediately painted her room as well as soon as we closed on the house to try to get her room set up quickly.

Painted Burlap Candy Corn Hanging

Hi everyone!

I shared this over at See Vanessa Craft at the beginning of the month in Vanessa's 30 Crafty Days of Halloween but of course I had to share it here with all of you, well I still hope there are some of you out there since I've been so quiet on the blog this whole year.

This is a super quick and easy project perfect for Halloween!

This project is a no sew and it so fast. Just need to let the paint dry but if you have a blow dryer handy, you can get this project done in about 30 mins or less.

Here's how to make it.
Supplies:

-Acrylic paint
-Ribbon

-Paint brushes or stencil brushes

House Tour: Miss P's Room

We've been in our house since mid June and things are slowly but surely coming together. This is the longest it has ever taken me to unpack after a move but with immediately working on projects, things have gone slower this go around.

I did complete each of the girl's rooms as quickly as possible to try to make things as normal for them as possible again. This is their first move, with many more to go, and I know they really didn't understand what was happening so I wanted to get their rooms done quickly.

Today, I thought I would share Miss P's room with you.

Here is what her room looked like before. This was right after we closed on the house hence the air mattress on the floor. The previous owners used it as a guest room and had the walls painted yellow. Definitely needed a freshening up!

Miss P is to the age where she has an opinion now so she decided what color her room would be and she even picked out her own bedding and she even help me place some things around her room.

She's a little girl. Her favorite color is pink so of course she picked pink for her new wall color.
We painted her room the day after we closed on our house before all our furniture was here and she was thrilled.

Quick End Table Makeover

I gave one our end tables a super quick little makeover last week. Nothing too crazy but since I haven't shared much lately, I thought I would share this with all of you.

I searched every where for a good before picture. I am sure I have a better picture some where but of course when I go to search for it, it is no where to be found. All well! So I had it in the background of a picture and cropped it so you could see it better.

Travis picked up this table when we lived in CO at a small consignment store about 5 minutes from our house.
It was originally brown wood and he took the top off and replaced it with some old painted wood that was an old fence and then we painted it white. We painted the knobs and the little covers on the feet a turquoise.

We weren't suppose to keep this table. He redid it to just resell it and then it got put in our house and kinda stayed. lol

So after moving and placing it in our new house in the living room, the white was way to bright with the other furniture we had so it needed a quick face lift.

I got some American Decor Chalk Paint from Decor Art in gray and repainted the table.

Handmade Hangout Party #66

I just returned from a 2 week trip home to TN so once I get things completely put back together from our trip, hopefully I can finally sit down and craft something. That'd be real nice wouldn't it?!

Handmade Hangout Party #65

Unfortunately I have some sad news. Two of our lovely hostesses, Christina and Tracie, had to drop out from hosting the Handmade Hangout with us due to super busy schedules and a new baby. We'll miss them but the party will still go strong on 6 blogs.

So without further ado...

Simple Pine Cone Bird Feeder

This post was first shared over at Skip to My Lou on 8/12/2015 but I wanted to share it here with you fine folks as well.
Since we moved from CO to WI and our new house has so many more bushes and trees than our last house had, we have so much more wild life around!
The girls are young enough that they are still very excited about birds and seeing other creatures in our yard, especially since returning from my aunt's house in MI, so I thought I would create and share something that I remember doing when I was little and in school.
Best part, it is fast and EASY!

It is so easy that you can have kids of many ages do it.

Here’s how you can make your own.
 Supplies:
-Pine cones (found outside or store bought)
-Bird Seed
-Paper Plates
-Twine or string
-Peanut Butter
-Knife for spreading
Scissors
