Rustic Thumbprint Keepsake Ornament

Apparently I am a little sentimental this year. I have another little project to help capture those little kiddos at this moment in time.

It is real easy, nothing fancy, but will forever be special to hang on your tree.

This project only take a few minutes so it can easily be completed.

Here's what I did:

Supplies:
-Acrylic Paint
-Small Round Tree disc or branch (You can easily buy these at a craft store these days but this is actually from a branch our neighbor cut down and we just sliced it really small.)
-Twine
-Sharpie

Reclaimed Wood Trees

I was out shopping one afternoon with my mom when she was in town and we stopped at a little shop in town that I've been wanting to go to for a while now. It is a fun little store with lots of reclaimed finds, furniture pieces, and unique decor and the store was decorated with Christmas decor.
I spotted this MASSIVE Christmas tree made out of old pickets from a fence and it had lights strung on it and it was so fun! I snapped a picture to show Travis, you know, just in case he wanted to be creative.

We didn't have any fence pickets but we did have some old wood so I was lucky enough that Travis was in the mood to get creative and made some trees for me on a much smaller scale with some reclaimed wood.

He only made one to start and I told him that it looked lonely and needed a little family. lol He had enough wood to make 2 more and I pretty much forced him to take photos while he created the so I could share them with all of you.

Here's how you can make some for yourself.

 Supplies:
-Reclaimed wood or new wood would work as well
-Miter Saw
-Table Saw
-Wood Glue
-Staple Gun
-Nail Gun

{Feaure Friday} #54

Another Friday is here which also means the end of the year is inching closer and closer.
Where has this year gone?! I guess prepping for a move and making a big move for half the year can make a year fly.

But since it is Friday, it is time to show off some of the great ideas that were linked up to last week's Handmade Hangout Party.

“This post is brought to you by Core'Dinations and Blueprint Social. The opinions are 100% my own.”

I have a fun tutorial for you today using a totally awesome new product, Glitter Prints from Core'Dinations, which is actuallly unique, smooth glitter paper designed for printing on with your inkjet printer. How cool is that?!
You can now print on glitter! Easy and no mess, the glitter does not flake off! It is extremely easy to personalize and use since it works with any inkjet printer at home or in the office and prints with vibrant colors!

Are you ready to see what I created?
Here ya go...

If you've been around AGI for a while now, you know that I LOVE me some glitter in my Christmas decorations so I was super excited to check out this new product to add more glitter without the mess.

Here's how easy it is to use this new Glitter Print paper and to make this banner.

Supplies:
-Paper Cutting
-Scissors
-Twine

Simple Handprint Turkey Kid's Art

Thanksgiving is already next week, (say whaaaat?!), and I thought I would make a fun little art project with the girls to go along with the holiday.

This is super simple, in fact, you or your kids may have done this project while in school but if not it is so easy to do at home and have a little momento of your kid's hand prints at a moment in time.

Again, this is so easy!
Here is how to make some with your kids.

 Supplies:
-Card stock paper
-Acrylic Paint in an array of colors for your turkey
-Paint brushes
-And of course, your little one's hands

Holiday Gift Ideas for the Crafter in Your Life

**This post contains affiliate links.**

Can you believe the holidays are right around the corner?!
Have any of you finished your shopping yet? If you have, good for you! I'm jealous! lol
I have a few gifts for the girls already but that is about all. Guess I better get on this whole shopping thing soon.

If you are like me that still has many gifts that still need to be bought, I rounded up a list of ideas perfect for any crafter in your life.

I'll start with some cool machines.

This machine adds foil to any of your projects as long as the ink is from a laser printer. You just run your design through the machine with foil over it and it heats the foil to the ink and you are set!

There is also a smaller 6 in. machine as well.

{Fabulous Features} #52

Have you ever had so much stuff to do and you aren't even sure which one to do to complete first to move on to the next thing? Well, that is my life right now!

My parents were visiting last week and we started a whole new project that we were hoping we could get done soon but it happened MUCH sooner than we thought so that is now added to the long list of items that need to be completed. It is mostly complete but I still have to finish painting everything out so it will be done soon, I hope! But sitting down to craft and/or just blog is also on that list and I feel like it is getting pushed farther down the list even though I have tons of stuff I want to make or can blog about.

Since I skipped sharing some of my favorite ideas from last week's Handmade Hangout Party last Friday, thought I would share them this morning before this week's party begins this afternoon.

Hazel & Ruby Holiday Advent Calendar

After a whirlwind of a week with my parents here trying to help us get some projects completed, I was finally able to sit down and have some fun crafting with one of the new holiday kits from Hazel and Ruby which can be picked up at JoAnn Craft Stores.

Many of my blogging friends were able to create their own kit for the holiday line and I was able to play with the kit that my friend Katie from Sweet Rose Studio created which was a Holiday Advent Calendar.

These kits are so fun and are meant to be completed in one afternoon or a crafternoon. ;)

The kits have the finished product on the back and then a list of items you would need to complete the craft, which won't be too much since everything you need to make the craft comes in the kit itself.

Fun Weekend Events

This was a fun weekend in our household.
Not only was it Halloween but we celebrated Miss S turning 2.

Halloween was a lot of fun this year with both girls fully able to participate.

We started the day by finally carving our pumpkins then after nap they got all dressed up and we started trick or treating about 430. Trick or Treating starts early here in our little town which was so nice because we were then home early enough for dinner. And does our town Trick or Treat!! I have never seen so many people out and about trick or treating. It was so fun!

The girls got all dressed up as an adorable little Monster and Miss P was her favorite princess, Cinderella.
Of course Miss P went right up saying Trick or Treat like it was nothing but I was worries Miss S would freak out with all the costumes and strangers but I think once she realized people were giving her candy, she was all about it too!
