Well, this is actually May's "Craft with Me" post.
You know when you think you have just one more day and then you realize that you were wrong and you're a day late instead? Well, that happened to me this time.
So even though I am a day late, here is a super easy "Craft with Me" project.
Did you know you can print on burlap?! Well you can! I have been wanting to try it FOREVER now and just never have. Then when I ran across this product at my local Wal-Mart I knew I had to buy it and finally try it out.
Here is what you need to create this project.
-Laminated Burlap Sheets (found at my Wal-Mart in the craft department)
The burlap is laminated on one side so it has a backing on it. It keeps all the fibers together and seals the back so you could paint on it if you'd like without it bleeding through.
Can't find this item at your Wal-Mart, you can use normal burlap and just iron on a thin interfacing on the back of it.
For my design, I used one of the print and cut designs offered by Silhouette but you could always design something in Word or Photoshop or another photo editing software and just print it off.
I tested the print on a regular sheet of paper first to make sure I like the size and spacing of the final result.
To print, I had to make sure that this was the only thing in the paper feeder of my printer otherwise it wouldn't pull it through and would jam.
But once it did pull it through, it printed just as fast as if it was a piece of paper and was good to go.
I love how it turned out and now I want to figure out other things to print!
I just trimmed it up to the size of an 8x10 and placed it in a frame.
All done and it took me about 10 mins!
Have you ever printed on burlap?
If so, I'd love to see it and if not, give it a try!
