"Recipe for a Happy Family" Printable

We are still finishing up our kitchen makeover.
The new counters we ordered will be installed next week, YAY!, and then we will be able to put up the new back splash. We started work on our island and now I just have to run out to the store to pick up one last thing so I can start painting it.

So in the meantime, I am still trying to figure out how I want to decorate the joint. I have a good idea of what I'm doing, and have some of it completed already, just need to finish up a thing or two.

I bought this awesome wall piece with baskets and as I started decorating it, decided I wanted to put some sort of printable in it. With it being a kitchen, and since most kitchens are the heart of the home, I thought how about some cool recipe printable. After looking around a bit I decided a recipe on a happy family would be perfect!

I found a few I liked and designed my own off of those versions and I love how it turned out!

This is so easy and can be made even easier if you just print it out and frame it but here is how I created my version.

Supplies:
-Thin cardboard (I used an empty cereal box)
-Scrapbook paper
-Paper cutter
-Double sided tape
-Laminated Burlap (I bought mine at Wal-Mart in the craft department)
-Brads or buttons (optional)

I began by printing out my recipe on the laminated burlap.

I trimmed up the cereal box to make sure it was straight.
I then trimmed up the 12x12 piece of scrapbook paper to make it slightly larger than the cardboard.

Using double sided tape, tape the paper to the cardboard. Press firmly.

Tape the laminated burlap to the scrapbook paper and press firmly.

I thought something else was needed so I dug through my buttons and brads and found these brads.
I just used a super sharp pair of scissors and pierced through the paper and pushed the brads through and opened them on the back.

And that was it!

Like I said, easy! And you could just frame it after printing out and be done even earlier!

I slipped it into the bottom basket and it was the finishing touch it needed!
I love how it turned out!

I could have framed it and placed it in here but I didn't want it to be heavy since I have the plates in it.
And this way, it filled up the space nicely and if someone wants to read the whole recipe, they could easily pull it out and replace it without worrying about not getting it back in.

Now, if you like this printable I have a few versions just for you!

I have centered and left side versions in two ways.
Print it out on burlap, scrapbook paper, plain paper, or choose the chalkboard version.
