{Feature Friday} #60

To say that I am happy today is Friday is an understatement! Travis comes home tomorrow and I can not wait for a break! lol

I am hoping to get out of the house, ALONE, and possibly get some crafting done as well. Fingers crossed! :)

In the mean time, I had fun browsing last week's Handmade Hangout Party checking out all the great ideas you all linked up. Here are a few that got my attention.

Fun FREE Valentine Printables!

Hey friends, I'm Jamie and I blog over at Pure Joy Creative!
I am so excited to be a part of the creative team here at A Glimpse Inside!! I'll be sharing lots of different things over my time here but if there's something specific that you are looking for don't hesitate to ask!

Today I am going to share with you some fun FREE Valentine's Day Printables!

I started dabbling in hand lettering over two years ago. I did some drawing to pass the time at my job where I was the Afternoons Director at my kids school. Part of my job included supervising kids in the homework room and I obviously didn't have homework so I started writing scripture verses in fun fonts to pass the time. I looked online for some inspiration and tutorials and eventually started creating custom pieces for friends and strangers alike.
I am still learning more and more about hand lettering but one thing I know is that I love it! It is something that I can see myself doing for a long time...which is saying a LOT because I'm kind of an ADD Crafter. I tend to try the newest, latest thing and get bored with it. That just isn't the case with hand lettering. I am still learning the process of digitizing the designs but I think for now what I have created will work pretty well for your kids!

Black & Gold Valentine Yarn Wreath, January "Craft with Me" Series

I asked last week if anyone would be interested in a Craft with Me series and I had a few people tell me they would like it and if I wanted to do it, then do it so.... Welcome to the January Edition of the Craft with Me Series.

Every month I will post an easy craft that anyone can make, using supplies that anyone can buy, and show you my version of it. Then at the end of the post I will have a linky where you can link up your own version. Make it just like mine, change the colors or other accents to make it your own! So simple and fun!

January's "Craft with Me" project is a little something for Valentine's Day.

It isn't super fancy and is easy to make and I like a good wreath so I thought it would be a good start.

Here is how to create one for yourself.

I Asked, Miss P Answered

Miss P will be 4 in 4 mths! How is that even possible!?
I feel like it was only last year that I was sharing my weekly pregnancy updates with you guys and now she is going to be 4!

She has definitely been in her "threenager" stage lately and I must say I am anxious for her to get over it but she is fun and has a sweet side.

I saw these questions floating around on FB when some of my friends were posting them in their statuses and I thought it would be fun to ask Miss P them as well. We had a mommy/daughter day last Thursday to celebrate her accomplishment of finally conquering the whole pooping in the potty situation and thought this would be the perfect time to sit down and ask her so I did just that after dinner that night.

{Feature Friday} #59

Another January Friday is here and I am pretty happy about it since that means I only have one more week until Travis comes home. Thank goodness! This momma is getting a little stir crazy and can't wait to be able to talk to an adult on a regular basis again! lol

Thankfully I have the good ole blog and all of you to "talk" to help keep me sane.

Since it is Friday that means it is time to share some great ideas from The Handmade Hangout Party last week. This week I decided to forego any recipes and keep it straight crafts, decorating, and diy ideas. Hopefully you'll see something that inspires you.

Strawberry Double Chocolate Chip Cookies

Hi readers, I'm Molly from Just a Little Creativity, and I'm so happy to be a part of the 2016 Creative Team here at A Glimpse Inside!

Today I'm sharing a tried and true, delicious, and super easy Strawberry Double Chocolate Chip Cookie  recipe. Perfect for a Valentines Day treat, your people will love you for baking these.

I'll admit, strawberry isn't usually my go-to flavor, it's chocolate, but the first time I experimented in the kitchen and created these goodies, I was hooked. My youngest kiddo Isaac is seven, and he loves to help me in the kitchen, especially using the hand mixer (he's not allowed to go past level 1 for speed, but he doesn't mind). He's usually got good ideas too. In fact, it was his idea to include the two types of chocolate chips in this recipe (white and dark), and let me tell you, the double chocolate flavors set these cookies apart from the rest.

Would you be Interested...

Happy Tuesday everyone!

I don't have a craft or decorating post for you today but I am here to get your opinion.
I am thinking of starting a new series on my blog, a "Craft with Me" series and was curious if this would be something that would be of interest to you guys.

I would share a craft once a month, something relatively easy, using items that anyone can easily go out and buy and use and share it with all of you. You would create your own version of the craft and I would have a link party attached to the post where you can link up your creation to show off.

I thought this would be something fun to add to the blog in 2016. I would ask for some of my blog friends to participate as well to get a fun array of projects

So tell me, PLEASE, would this be something that would interest you guys?!
Leave me a comment telling me yay or nay so I can get to planning on this month's project!

Thanks guys and have a great rest of the week! :)

Black and Gold Wood Heart

Valentine's Day is now less than a month away. I don't normally decorate all the much for it but with the girls getting a little older, and now realizing and understanding things more, it is more fun to be able to enjoy it more seeing it through their eyes.

I have a craft for you today for Valentine's Day and I decided to not make the traditional red, pink, purple and went with the trend of white, black and gold.

I love how it came out and it is so super easy!

This is how you can make your own.

Supplies:
-Wooden Heart (I bough this last year at Target in the dollar section but I'm sure you can find something similar at a craft store)
-Acrylic Paint in the colors of your choosing
-Brushes
-Paint Pen
-Pencil
-Round Pounce Brushes

{Feature Friday} #58

Hello Friday!
I have been so thrown off this week as to what day it has been that you are lucky I figured it out to get this post actually up today! I have been a day ahead all week, probably since Travis left for a work trip over the weekend, so to say that I am happy Friday is actually here is awesome!

I have some great ideas to share with you today from last week's Handmade Hangout Party

Butternut Coffee Creamer

Hello and happy Wednesday everyone!
My name is Kathrina and this is my first blog post for A Glimpse Inside. I’m excited to collaborate with some very talented fellow bloggers and I’m looking forward to getting to know you guys, the readers, while sharing and creating recipes and DIY projects that I hope you’ll use again and again.
My first contribution is something I’ve just recently started making, but I’m already hooked. It’s a homemade flavored coffee creamer, and it is very easy to make. There’s something really satisfying about making something that you usually buy. I don’t know if it was the challenge of making a good flavored creamer at home, or the desire to not leave the house when the wind chills hovered around -15 degrees, but I was certainly motivated to try to create something at home inspired by my favorite store bought one.
Turns out, making creamer at home is easier than it seems, and it’s completely customizable. Once you get going, the possibilities really are endless. You only need a few ingredients, a small saucepan or pot, and a container to store your finished creamer. Here’s how to make a sweet and delicious addition to your morning coffee.

Butternut Coffee Creamer
1/2 cup Brown Sugar, lightly packed
1/2 cup Cream
1 cup Half and Half
Pinch of Salt
1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1/4 Teaspoon Butter Flavoring
1/4 Teaspoon Hazelnut Flavoring
1/4 cup Sweetened Condensed Milk
Place a saucepan over medium heat. Add in the brown sugar, cream, and the pinch of salt.

Stir to combine and heat until steaming, but not boiling. Remove from heat and add the vanilla, butter flavoring and hazelnut flavoring. Stir well to combine, and let cool slightly, about 5 minutes.

Add in the sweetened condensed milk. Stir well to combine, then add the half and half.

Pour the creamer into a container for storage. You may want to let it cool completely before placing it in the refrigerator.
To use, shake or stir well, then pour a Tablespoon or two into a cup of coffee and stir to combine. It is very sweet, so you may or may not need additional sweetener, depending on your personal preference.
There you have it. Coffee creamer made at home that can rival the store-bought version, custom flavored, and ready in under 10 minutes. It doesn’t get much easier (or tastier) than that! I’m raising my coffee cup to you all. Cheers!

January of 2016 is just a few days shy of being halfway over already, (say what?!), which means Valentine's Day is just over a month away!
You may still be in the holiday funk and recovering but I thought I'd help you get into the Valentine's Day mood and I would gather up some great ideas to help you plan ahead of time to make it a little more special.

I do ask that if you going to pin one of these ideas, please click on the link under the photo and pin from the original source OR pin the collage image above. Thanks! :)

DIY Doll Bed

Today I am sharing a project with you that I have literally had all the supplies for a year. A year people!

It is a good thing that I packed and unpacked all my craft supplies because Travis would definitely question why I was moving an empty Cuties box. lol

If you have little girls in your house like I do, you have MULTIPLE baby dolls in your house. My girls love playing with them, comfort them, love on them, and tucking them into bed so I thought it would be fun to create a doll bed and repurposing something like a Cuties orange box was the perfect thing to make one with

This was actually a relatively easy project so here is the how to for you to create your own.

Supplies:
-Empty Cuties box or something similar
-Wooden balls that are flat on one side
-Wooden discs
-Acrylic Paint
-Fabric
-Batting
-Glue

{Feature Friday} #57

Happy Friday!
Did you survive the first week of 2016? I hope it was nice to you so far!

I will say that it was good to me so far but now I am a little nervous because Travis is heading out of town the next few weeks so I am praying that the girls will also be nice to me while he is away.

I have some great ideas for you today that will hopefully inspire you to get a little creative in the coming weeks.

Meet AGI's 2016 Creative Team

I am so excited to introduce you to A Glimpse Inside's Creative Team for 2016!
These talented ladies will be here every month throughout the year. They will take turns posting and you can expect to see their posts on Wednesdays.
I wanted to take the time today to introduce each of them and share a little bit about them.
Be sure visit each of them on their own blogs and on their social media sites as well!

Kathrina is a Photographer, DIY-er, food obsessed Blogger and General Director of Shenanigans over at Eclectic Yellow House, a blog created because of her love to create! She loves playing board games, watching television sitcoms from the 70s and 80s, and dreaming of places to visit and photograph "someday". In the meantime, you'll find her creating recipes based on her travels, sitting at Competitive Marching Band competitions with one of her two daughters, or watching shows from the DVR with her very best friend, Rafael, who she married 15 years ago, and probably eating cookies or Haribo gummy bears.

"Wherever you are" Printable

After sharing the word I chose for 2016, I thought I would find a quote that would help inspire and remind me to be "present."

I found this quote and thought it worked very well for my goal of this word. I need to remember to be all there when I am with my friends and family plus I need to try to have a better presence here on the blog.
I thought I would create a printable that I could print out to place in my craft room and then wherever else I may need it for a little reminder.

I went to print this out and unfortunately I didn't have enough ink! Boo! So once I do get it all printed I will be sure to share a photo of what I did with it!

BUT I created this as an 8x10 photo but you can print it smaller if you'd like. I will probably print it as a 4x6 or 5x7.
Mess with your printer settings but I normally print mine in the size I want and "shrink to fit" for the best result.

You can download your copy below. That copy does NOT have a watermark on it- promise!

My Favorite Posts of 2015

2015 has come and gone, which is so crazy, and even though I was pretty silent here on A Glimpse Inside for most of the year due to our move, I still wanted to share a few of my favorite posts from this past year.

DIY Play Tent we created the girls for Christmas.

The Felt Ruffle Wreath I created for Valentines day last year.
