Winter Wonderland Ornament

Do you ever make your own ornaments?
I've made a few in my time, whenever inspiration hits, and I have one for you again today.
I had a pile of mason jar lids sitting in a box left over from a past project and I didn't want to just throw them away so after some thinking, I thought ornaments would be a great use of them!

This is fairly easy to create if you have some lids sitting around not being used.

Supplies:
-Glitter paper
-Mason Jar lid
-Scissors
 -Pencil
-Glue or adhesive of some sort (Mod Podge, Goop)
-Hot Glue Gun
-Twine or ribbon
-Small figurines and trees
-Batting

Begin by tracing the center of the mason jar lid twice and cutting out the circles.

Glue the circles to both sides of the center of the lid. I used Mod Podge to glue the paper to the lid.

Here's a shot of the lid sandwiched between the paper, like the cream in an Oreo cookie. ;)

Then glue the center of the lid to the outer ring. I used Goop glue to glue this in but you could use any other adhesive and probably even hot glue.

Time to add the winter wonderland part.
Take a tiny bit of batting and glue that to what will be the bottom area of your ornament.

Next, glue a small bottle brush tree and deer, or any item of your choosing, into the snow. I glued the bottom of the figurines to the batting and then placed a tiny bit of hot glue on the back of them to glue them to the paper as well so they would fall forward.

And lastly, wrap the outer ring with twine or ribbon gluing it down tightly.
I tied it once then glued it down at the top before making a knot in the twine creating a loop for hanging.

And that's it!
I wish you could see better in the photos the glitter paper in the backdrop but it sparkles pretty like snow!

Simple as that and ready for the tree!

I have another mason jar lid ornament in the works too so stay tuned for that one! :)
