MHCT&M: 14 Creative Valentine Boxes

Hello everyone!
Welcome to another week of Must Have Craft Tips and More!

I am Allison, from A Glimpse Inside, back again to share with you one last tip for Valentine's Day.

I remember being a kid and getting so excited about the Valentine's Day party at school. I love making my own little box to take to allow everyone to drop their valentine cards into. When I was young though, a basic shoe box covered in construction paper and stickers was as creative I ever got but now a days, Valentine boxes are works of art!

I've rounded up 14 creative Valentine boxes that you can create with your kiddo to take to school that they will absolutely love!

My 2017 Valentine's Day Mantle

About midnight on Sunday, or I guess really, Monday morning, I decided to put up my Valentine's Day mantle after a super crazy weekend.

I pulled it all together with items that I've used in years past, items that I've just had around the house or in a cabinet, and a few new pieces that I made this year.

It is a rather simple mantle, and I still may tweak it here and there, but for just grabbing items around the house, I like how it turned out!

MHCT&M: 15 Heart Shaped Foods

Hello friends! Welcome to another week of Must Have Craft Tips!

Kara from Mine for the Making here this week to share 15 Heart Shaped Foods... just in time for Valentine's Day.
I absolutely love crafting and food... combining the two is even more fun! So here are some ways you can show a little love in the food you make around Valentine's Day!

Hearts just happen to be my favorite shape, so I'll put all the hearts on all the things if I have an excuse. Even food!
Some of these heart food ideas would be great for breakfast, lunch,  dinner, and dessert.

Fabric Heart Valentine

I'm Rachel and I'm thrilled to be a contributor to A Glimpse Inside. Before we get started with the tutorial, I'd like to share a little bit about myself. I'm a mom and I like to create. I relish the times when I can take the time to make something. I blog over at Adventures of a DIY Mom. I get great satisfaction from taking a pile of supplies and turning it into something useful or decorative.

Today's tutorial is just such a project. It's been quite miserable outside in Utah where I live. I love the winter - mostly because I love to hunker down inside with my craft projects. Anyway, I didn't want to leave the house in the snowy weather and icy roads to buy supplies for my project, so I went down to my craft room to see what I had that I could use for a Valentine's project.

Here's what I came up with: A cute little fabric Valentine heart, complete with  a little pocket stash a small note and treat.

How to Make a Fabric Heart Valentine with a Pocket

As I was making these for my family, I came up with a plan. I decided that the week before Valentines, we will fill up each others hearts with kind words. Each day we will write something nice about each person in our family.  I'm hoping that this will help my children {and my husband and I} to focus on the good in each other. Then, on Valentine's, the kids can read them all and realize how much their family loves them.

Love Birds Sign

Hi everyone!
I hope you all had a nice long weekend.
Our long weekend has been extended another day due to freezing rain and ice. YUCK!

I had a quick craft session over the weekend, in between house projects, and I thought that since I plan on setting up a Valentine's Day mantle this week, I would make something that could go on it.

This project also made me realize how horrible the light is in this house in the winter with constant gray skies outside and that I need to invest into a good lighting kit. But anyways... enough about that, let's see the project.

This is a super fast and easy sign that can be completed in about 10 to 15 minutes. Yep, that quick!!

Here's all you need to do it:

Supplies:
-Wood board or something similar (I found this in the dollar spot at Target.)
-Acrylic Paint
-Stencil Brush
-Heart image
-Silhouette Machine

Vintage Lamp Makeover

Hi everyone!  I am Donna from Modern on Monticello and I’m excited to be sharing my first project as a contributor to A Glimpse Inside blogging audience.

To give you just a brief background on myself and my blog, I live in a mid-century modern home built in the late 70’s and I mostly blog about trying to fix up our dated home, as well as many other fun DIY projects.  I am also a Certified Interior Designer, a wife, and a mom.

This year I am finally completing a renovation project to our dated family room but we aren’t even close to posting about that reveal just yet.  In the meantime, I am working on some furniture and accessories for that room that you will see in upcoming projects.

The first one is a Vintage Lamp Makeover.

I inherited this lamp from my grandparents.  In fact, my parents gave my grandparents this lamp as a Christmas present the first Christmas they were married in 1968 – and I was born just a week later on January 1st, 1969  (yes I just told you my age).

20 Delicous Soup Recipes

Happy Monday everyone!
It has been brutally cold here in WI. We still have snow on the ground and got a round of ice last week. When it is so cold, and you live in a chilly Victorian house, soups are amazing to have for dinner.

I've rounded up some delicious looking soup recipes just in case you may also be on the hunt for some amazing new soups to try.

If you plan on pinning one of the recipes, please pin from the actually site OR pin the collage image above. Thanks!

Happy 2017!!

Happy New Year everyone!
2017 is here and like every year, I can't believe how fast the last year went by!

This will be a fun, exciting year for our family.

Travis and I are about to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary at the end of this week.
We will be celebrating our 14th anniversary together at the end of the month.
We are going on a big anniversary trip in April.
Miss P turns 5 in May.
We will more than likely be moving again this year and hopefully we will get some good news about Travis's job in the next 2 weeks.
Miss P will start kindergarten this fall---- CRAZY!!
Miss S will turn 4 this fall.
I am starting my own Painting Party business.
And much more!

Here on AGI, there will some new faces as contributors. I will be introducing them this week.
Must Have Craft Tips series will continue every Friday. Craft with Me series will also still happen at the end of every month. And the Handmade Hangout Party will still be every Thursday evening.
Hopefully, I will get my mojo back and motivation to craft, do diys and blog much more this year. I still love the blog but I have been in a funk for quite a while now so here is hoping I can turn that around soon!!

I haven't set any resolutions this year.
I haven't picked a word of the year.
But I sure hope 2017 is a great year for my little family.

Did you set a resolution?
Do you have any fun exciting plans for 2017?

I hope that you all have a fantastic happy, healthy New Year!!
