Spring Chevron Wreath Tutorial

I am SOOOOO ready for spring!
We were teased with temps in the 60s this weekend and then it snowed 3 inches Monday afternoon. BLAH!!
But when it was warm I got my craft on making a fun spring wreath to hopefully encourage the weather to warm up.

I am super thrilled with how it came out and it was a fast, east project too!

Here's how to make it.
-Wreath Form
-Chevron Ribbon
(I bought mine at Hobby Lobby but I know sites like Very Jane or Groopdealz sometimes have them.)
-Styrofoam Eggs
-Floral Pins
-Hot Glue Gun

To start, I wrapped the entire wreath form in burlap.

I then unwrapped all the ribbon spools and pinned down the ribbon in four spots, equally spaced. I will say I pinned them at 12, 3, 6, and 9 like on a clock.
You could also just cover the wreath with one ribbon at a time but I just wanted to make sure they were spaced out correctly so there wouldn't be a gap somewhere just in case the ribbon ran out.

After I pinned the start of each ribbon onto the form, I wrapped one ribbon at a time, pinning as I made the loops (just like I did with my Fall Burlap Wreath).
I started with yellow, then blue, the pink, and lastly green and filled in any areas that needed more fluff as I went.
By using the pins, you can always pull them out and readjust the ribbon as you go or even start totally over if need be, which by the way, I needed too. ;)

I then wanted to add some eggs to make it good for Easter but didn't want to make them a permanent fixture on the wreath.
In order to achieve that, I used the floral pins and pushed one end into the egg and out the other side. Depending on how I wanted to the egg to lay, depended on where and how I placed the pin. This yellow one, I wanted it to stand up to hide the pins from the other eggs so I inserted the pin in the very bottom.

I clustered all the eggs together for the biggest impact on the busy ribbon.
I did place a little bit of hot glue on the end of the pins so when I pushed them in they would stay pretty well in windy CO.
I didn't place much though so I will still be able to pull them out if I want to extend the use of the wreath.

I love how it came out! :)
So bright and cheery for spring!

Here is a closer shot of the ribbon and how I weaved them together.

The eggs look good on the ribbon as well.

And the wreath pops off our front door too!

Now come on Spring!!
I am READY for ya!
