Simple "Give Thanks" Printables

Halloween is this weekend but I am going to jump ahead to Thanksgiving for those of you that want to change out your decor.

I loved the watercolor Autumn printable I created and shared a few weeks ago so I wanted to use the same watercolor images to create something you could display for Thanksgiving.

Family Fall Fun

I thought I'd share a family post today since we haven't appeared on the blog in a while. The girls are getting big and Miss S will actually be 2 this Sunday! SAY WHAT?!?! So far, we all are enjoying WI and love all the parks that are little just minutes from our house in every direction. Still a little nervous to experience our first winter though! EEK!

Since we moved we don't have a photographer to take any family pictures of us and with all the pretty parks and colors coming out I really wanted to have some done.
Since I do have a tripod and a decent camera I just asked a friend to meet us in the park and take some for us.

We got a couple good photos before the girls were both over the smiling but that's ok.

10 Great Mudroom Ideas

With construction in our house taking FOREVER I have been dying to do something around here. I hate that I can't control the projects being done by our contractor, especially when we feel like at this point, we could have been done if we did it ourselves, so I'm eager to start a project that I can control.

The previous owners of our house added a huge new kitchen addition a few years ago. The old kitchen sits just outside the new kitchen and still has the original cabinets on one side but nothing on the other since that was where the stove and refrigerator used to sit. We also have to walk through this room to exit the back of the house and go into the basement so we thought it would be perfect as a mudroom.

This weekend we started on this room by painting the walls. I still want to repaint the old cabinets and we have to build the entire mudroom portion but I am so excited Travis agreed to finally start this.

I am PRETTY sure what I want in the mudroom area but I still took to Pinterest to narrow down everything and while I was there, I thought I would share some different mudroom options that may work in your home.

If you plan on pinning any of these ideas, please pin directly from the site below each photo OR pin the image above.

Glammed-Up Treat Bucket 2.0

Two years ago I bought one of those $1 plastic orange pumpkin treat buckets for Miss P and gave it a little makeover to make it more fun and unique.

I glammed it up a bit and it makes for the perfect candy bucket.
You can see the full tutorial for this Glammed Up Treat Bucket here.

I bought another pumpkin for Miss S but with planning for her first birthday last year and preparing to travel to TN, I never gave her pumpkin its makeover.

I finally got to it this week and here is what I did for Miss S's treat bucket.

I wanted her bucket to be similar to Miss P's but I didn't want it exactly the same. I like how it turned out and is still very similar to Miss P's.

I have a free printable for you guys today.
I still am loving all things watercolor and when I spotted this design kit full of watercolor pumpkins, gourds and berries, I KNEW I had to make a printable with it!

It is perfect for fall and a great add to your decor.

House Tour: Front Porch

I am back sharing another house tour today and I am sharing one of our favorite places in our house, the screened in front porch.

We have a large screened in porch on the front of our house.
We loved it as soon as we saw it knowing that many evenings would be spent out here.

Come this way. I'll show you around.

Entering the porch from the screen door, you will see that I wanted to add some fun bright colors to this space. The porch definitely needed it since it has original wood white siding, white ceiling and white porch walls with beige linoleum flooring and green accents on the wood holding in the screens and around the windows.

We used the outdoor furniture that used to be on our patio in CO on the porch and then bought two new outdoor red chevron rugs from Target for a big bright punch of color.

What's nice about this porch, it has a ceiling fan so if it is rather warm and humid out you can flip that one and get the air moving to help cool you off.

The love seat sits in front of the large windows of our living room looking out onto the street. I bought the fabulous pillow fabric at JoAnn's and sewed those right up to add some color to the couch and chairs.

On the opposite end sit our two chairs. They are near the door that enters the house and luckily they fit there perfectly!

I would still like to find a small table to place between the two chairs but that will come at some point.

The sun sets on this side of the house and the previous owners installed this large roller sun shade to help with the glare as it is going down.
We haven't used it very often so far but it was because on the other side of the screen is what will finally be the main front door of the house again and there used to be a HUGE vine that grew on the outer side of the porch. This helped block the sun but it was so out of control that is also attacked you if you tried to walk onto the porch so needless to say that got completely taken out a few weekends ago so this screen will be put to good use now I'm sure.

Above one of the chairs, hangs a sea glass wind chime just in case a good breeze comes through the screen. And then just outside the screen on the far column of the porch we hung a red bird feeder so we can sit out on the porch and watch the birds. The girls and the cat love it!

Moving down the porch now for a little more color.
Next to the couch, we placed the coffee table that went with out patio set since it couldn't sit across from the couch with the size of our porch. I just placed a little lantern and a candle inside it on top for now and will probably throw a little pot with flowers on it next spring summer.

Above the table I hung the ombre wood initial that I created and then on the door I just quickly hung up the cream linen wreath a with welcome sign on the door to the house. And then next to the door, I hung the wire star we have but that was just for something quick so not sure if that will actually stay there.
I was desperate to decorate something since our house is still unfinished inside so I just grab what I could find to hang up. lol

I LOVE our old door! It is so pretty with all it original glass but also makes me nervous with ALL the original glass and two small little ones that like to run around and slam doors! Eek!

Swinging around to the other side you will see the door to the screen porch over on the opposite end of the porch. I hung a hanging planter my uncle made up in the corner with some succulents in it for now.
I also want SOMETHING in the corner over there, like a table or small chair or something but haven't quite found it yet.

And lastly, we hung up some fun cafe' lights all around the top of the porch for those fun evenings just hanging out on the porch.

That's our porch!
We enjoyed it during the summer and don't see us being back out here too much until spring rolls around unless it is to walk through it to let the dog out but it sure will be a cheerful place to walk through!

{Feature Friday} #48

Welcome Friday!

I wish I could say that the construction on our house is finally complete and that I have a gorgeous master bath just waiting to be shared with you next week and a fabulous arch downstairs but that is just not the case! Boo to construction! It will probably be at least 2 more weeks until our project is complete and I am OVER IT!

But anyways... I had fun browsing all the great ideas that were linked up to last week's Handmade Hangout Party and here are a few that caught my eye.

Simple Fall Grapevine Wreath

Remember yesterday when I shared that a friend and I had a little fun shopping for craft supplies and then a fun craft day?
Well here is another project that I created during our crafty session.

And can I say how good it feels to get crafting again!! There is still a ton to do to our house but with construction things are on hold until that is done so I definitely needed to get those creative juices out in some way! Plus, I finally have something to share with all of you! :) YAY!

I wanted a new fall wreath and after spotting these materials on our shopping trip, I knew just what to do.

I like how simple it is but still feels like fall with screaming FALL!

Here is how you can make your own.

Supplies:
-Grapevine Wreath
-Raffia
-Metal initial
-Burlap flower
-Pom Pom floral stick
-Hot Glue Gun

Ombre Initial Wall Hanging

A friend and I had a day of shopping for crafts supplies and then a fun day of crafting a few weeks ago.

While we were out I picked up this large wooden initial and at first was going to decorate it for fall and place it on our door but as I started, things changed and this is what I created.

This really is a super easy project to create.

Here is how you can make one for yourself.

Supplies:
-Large wooden initial (I bought this one at Hobby Lobby)
-Acrylic Paint
-Paint brushes
-Ribbon or fabric
-Hot Glue Gun
-Small staple gun
